I can relate to this. Towards the end of 2017, I found cryptocurrency and was able to invest 3k USD in Bitcoins which I borrowed from family members. About four months later my investment returned an ROI of 600% and 3k turned to 20k+. It took me four months to reach 20k but only less than 1 month to lose all of that including the seed capital of 3k.
You may wonder how I lost the capital; here's how it happened. I was basically HODLing my investment until it reached 20k. After Bitcoin started to plummet in January 2018, I started to day trade with what was left for me. This is how I practically lost everything. I can remember I was only able to withdraw $400+ at last.

I would say take Your funds 5K worth, use the Robin Hood app (*Free trading) to invest into some stocks that have a high vote for buying.
The market is down right now, and will come back soon. Personally put $400 in last month and am up to $490 as of today... 5K investment may be risky but with a return of $90 per $400 in.. you're looking at about a thousand-ish a month coming in.
