Quick question about 1and1 website hosting

Hi smart blackhatters I've purchased a domain in the marketplace but now I am looking for cheap hosting to build a PBN with it. I saw 1and1 give 1 free domain with the 1 dollar per month package. I don't want to use Namecheap cause I am already hosting 2 sites with them. Do you guys have any experience with 1and1 webhosting and will they be fine for 1 PBN. I am also getting a 3 blog PBN build from someone in the marketplace. So should I wait for the PBN's to get finish building so I could see who is hosting these PBN's or should I use 1and1 hosting.

I don't use them but i read some comment that they really suck at hosting and support
 
Their Helpdesk is not so good.So,I don't use their services.You can use Bluehost.They are reliable and well support system :)
 
1 and 1 is notorious for being a low level hosting service company. It's been ages since I used them but my experiences with them still make me weep when I think back to my dealings with them.
 
Nope, wouldn't recommend them either. You can try using a cheap VPS with dedicated ips on each domain.. might work for your PBN. I use time4vps, they're pretty cheap and offer decent specs.

If you are just starting out I would not recommend going with them. Pick a web host that has better support and is willing to help you out as you get going.
 
Their support is pretty mediocre. Long wait times. The panel goes down sometimes randomly. I'd stay away.
 
I just had to reply because 1 and 1 is the worst web business I have ever dealt with in my 20 years of being on the internet.

Registered a domain once with them many years ago. I didn't want to renew, so I removed my credit card from my account. I had tried to find the option to cancel in my account, but couldn't find it. Why? Because it turned out they required you to call in to do that.

Anyways fast forward about a year from removing my credit card. Domain expiration came about and they sent me a threatening email saying I owed them money. If I didn't pay, they were going to send me to collections, take legal actions, etc. I called
them and it turned out they had "kindly" renewed it anyways and now I owed them the renewal fee plus additional fees. No other registrar, or business did that. Service is canceled if I can't be billed. Nope, not them. You have to call in and demand they cancel all services, or they will gladly renew all services without your permission and threaten you after.

So if you didn't read through my wall of text, I hope you see this advice. STAY AWAY FROM 1and1. You'll regret it.

The main problem with 1 and 1 is what senzu comments, they are into the business of making you renew their year suscription.
 
please be extra cautious for their auto renewal or subscription, turn off once you has registered
 
Dont go for them. The service really sucks. Go for namecheap or bluehost. Better companies.
 
I used them in the past and didn't like it, I switched to Bluehost and I've been using it for more than a year and it's great.
 
1and1 are ok -

plus points
1.There hosting is very stable, it very rarely goes down - I have had hundreds of domains hosted with them on a single account probably only had a handful of issues in 5+ years.
2.Performance is pretty good. Again with hundreds of domains on a single account performance was comparible to any other shared host.
3.Support - Their support is slow and rigid but its reliable. They know what they are doing.

negative points
1.They dont use cpanel
2.Their control panel is crap - really slow and not that flexible (Like tehy only introduced the ability to add TXT records about 2 years ago).
3.Their support is slow
4.their domain setup is SLOW.

To be totally honest, I moved a large percentage of my domains away from them purely because their setup times and speed of control panel were just too slow. BUT I still have PBN sites with them and for that sort of thing I think they are fine. Especially considering that their prices are very cheap compared to most other hosts.
 
A few years back I registered the domain name using 1 and 1 after the registration they ask me address proof, and I am not able to submit. Therefore they cancelled my domain name and refunded my money correctly without any delay. Most of the registers do ask ID proof, but 1 and 1 ask address proof.
