Hey,
We aren't sure if this is the right place to post, but here we are. Jason and I are at odds on if we should change our system. Personally, I (amanda) like windows better than mac. I just don't get mac os's.... They confuse me. I have heard things about linux, so I was considering that as well, as we have crashed... Well quite a few hard drives... and I broke a screen on a laptop (Don't ask. just connected a monitor to it.) So would it be easier on our systems to just run linux rather than windows? Would the programs I want to have (word processors, spreadsheets, databases, etc, along with im'ing programs.) Would it be easier on the hard drive than you know vista which is a resource hog.
Now Jason on the other hand, loves Mac. He has used it far more than I have, but I am concerned that it is better for a few parts of our needs, but not the whole. It is great for graphics, music, and videos, or so I have heard (like i said, im not good with macs). Jason says to get the same performance out of a pc as a mac, you would have to spend twice the money that a mac costs, ie: alienware. Which is his choice for windows based work. Now there are all kinds of custom pc and mac setups and three different operating systems at the moment.
So the questions is, what pc type do you use, what operating system do you like, etc. What would you suggest, as we are a music promotion company that does everything from internet marketing to muic recording (hence the disagreement in which way our systems should go)
This ought to be a very interesting thread, if a lot of people participate.
