questions: follower engagement, followliker setting

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my followers on relatively new instagram account.

1) I posted a picture regarding a giveaway that I would have and asked for comment if interested. But so far, people only liked the picture. I would really like a high level of engagement (that is my goal) and I am very disappointed that so far my followers all aren't active. Is there a way to fix this?

2) FL has been super good to me so far, but it has not really shown the best results for me. So my question is - what is the optimal setting for a new account?

Any additional tips would also be super helpful.

I have several accounts with over 20k followers and I can hardly get 10 comments on each photo.
You need a loooooot of patience till the followers start engaging with your posts.
 
First you kinda need to state numbers, what is a new account? Like new as in age or new as in not a lot of followers?

Also, what niche I'm running a few myself and notice the engagement/comment rate is completely different for each one. I have a page in the following Motorcycle/Tattoo/Female Fitness/Gamer, anywhere from 1k up to 33k followers ranging from 3%-10% engagement.

I will post the settings when I am home
I am mostly concerned that the people following me are just random accounts that aren't active nor engaging

Both in age and follower count. Follower count is less than 500 and age is up to a week now. My niche is fashion/hair. I can see that other accounts get a relatively decent about of engagement, which is why i am concerned.

Are you sure, that you are following the followers of other big fashion/hair accounts ? That's the best way to get new followers.

Yup, I will definitely go over the following queries and all that again. But here are my settings for FL:

Follower to following ratio: 0
Follow limit: 10-15
Daily follow limit: 400-500

Unfollow setting:
Ratio: 0
Unfollow after 0 days
Unfollow limit: 5-10
Daily unfollow limit: 250-300
Delay unfollow: 20-30
Delay follow: 50-70

Any thoughts?
 
I think your settings are pretty good for a fresh account, btw. tell me you are not following and unfollowing the same day, cuz this is the easiest way to get ur acc banned really fast.

Okay that is good. And I was doing that but i changed the settings... LOL
It is sorta a problem when I am following so many people but have less followers? - People would be less likely to follow because of that, which is why I have it at 0 to begin with.

Nah dude, it's absolutely normal for a fresh acc. I created one account 2 days ago and my stats are: following: 761 and followers: 147. It looks ugly, but it's the only option to get followers really fast. I usually unfollow after I hit 7500 following.
