You shouldn't believe the claim, but verify it instead.

Of all the stablecoins, USDC seems to be one of the most transparent. This doesn't mean it's 100% safe, it just means it's a good choice of a stablecoin.

It's backed by Coinbase, which is an audited and publicly traded company in USA.
