Ive been using a lot of adtrackz and prosper202, but each has a few better features than the other in certain ways.

for instance, with prosper202 the amount per-click values you can enter are limited to 2 positions after the decimal, like $xxx.xx per click. so if you are using traffic from a ppv source where the ppc is usually something like xxx.0102 per click, it wont fit and you have to round it up or down. adtrackz will let you put the number in properly, but then adtrackz is more work to get the campaigns up to track keywords because you need to supply it with the cost per click when setting up, and you might not know that yet until you enter the keywords into your traffic company, and you cant do that yet unless you want to manually enter them one at a time which sucks.

i guess they each have their pros and cons, as far as the BEST, i dont know, but i am mostly using prosper202, it seems suited for ME for what im doing right now, and its free as well

When I was looking for a tracking script, I made the following list of features that it must have (in addition to what you'd expect it to do like track sales, keywords etc):

1. Generates a unique tracking ID PER VISITOR, not per campaign. This means you can not only see how many sales came from a particular ppc network/keyword combination, but you can see which click generated the sale. Not particularly useful in itself, but it does mean the script is then able to tell you what time of day most conversions are occuring. It also means you can run compaigns on multiple domains and multiple PPC networks and no tracking ID will ever be the same.

2. Works with any affiliate network/ppc network that can export CSV reports (that means all of the big ones) and has subid tracking (again, all the top CPA/affiliate networks do).

3. Tracks non-ppc traffic, wherever it comes from (logged separately, so it doesn't interfere with your ppc traffic log).

4. Proxy/click-fraud detection.

5. IP scanner - looks for suspicious IP patterns.

6. "Length of stay" tracking - how long do people stay on your landing page?

7. Automatically updates sales data (to save you importing CSV reports) if your affiliate/cpa network provides a postback URL, like Neverblueads. You get realtime ROI and sales stats!

8. View traffic patterns by keyword or by date, and view every single click received along with referrer, search phrase, click-fraud level warning, IP, useragent etc.

9. Track clicks and actions on your own landing pages (actions can be joining a mailing list, downloading a PDF etc)

10. Keyword tools - basically a set of text file manipulation tools to do what Speed PPC does and provide text files you can import into Adwords Editor for creating 1000s of campaigns instantly.

I couldn't find anything that came close, so I developed my own. There's no instruction manual unfortunately which is why I haven't released it, otherwise I'd give it away free in return for a backlink or something. I believe anyone who's serious about tracking should have their own script custom built, it'll s**t all over any script you can buy commercially.
