Hello members,
I have doubts about link building. I have 5 blog sites. I started link building without any VPN or proxy. by profile backlinks, social bookmarking, blog commenting.

Is that good or bad for SEO? Should I use VPN for each link building? Also using VPN is a Ranking Factor?

or

Using real IP is harmful / footprint for SEO?

ADvance Thanks!

How do each of the sites know and report your IP to google? Think about it.
You don't need to use a VPN unless for example, you are using a web2.0 site or a forum, and you are building many accounts on it

You are complicating simple things.

A VPN is not needed...but you can use it or use proxies to create the accounts that you want to post on for link building

You can do it either way. Some website will block your IP and in that case you have to use a VPN. It is generally a good practice to use different IPs for your link building.

You should be careful with VPNs because they are not as good as people think. Most of them are IP blacklisted

I used VPN when I build links a few months back. 30% of websites blacklisted VPN or gave a nofollow link.
I don't know what the situation is right now. You can use Nord VPN it is better than the rest of them out there.
If some know better than Nord VPN, please let me know?
You can also use residential proxies.
You definitely don't want to use your IP and get your IP blacklisted.

There is no direct relation between whatever IP you use to build links and Google. Google will never find your link building IP, so rest assured of that. However, during link building in some websites/properties, it's better if you can use clean residential IP (hint: mobile internet that offers dynamic IP and changes IP in every disconnection), otherwise they tend to remove the links or simply don't allow you to create a link. But again, your IP doesn't affect your SERP, at least directly.

You need to use VPN / Proxy only in case web site you are interested in is blocking your local IP. So that helps you covering certain sites. In my opinion that is the only purpose of using VPN/proxy.

VPN is use only when you hide our location and build it to other country location. Otherwise all is clear as you describe.

There is no need of proxies until you do things right.

If you use it, be cautious while connecting and sharing things
