Hey guys,

I've experienced something strange since Gmail went down earlier last week I think (or this week?).

When sending marketing mails through my regular SMTP host & mail sender software, I get a mail delivery failure, with this error code: 550 High probability of spam.
Just to clarify, it's not mass mailing spam and no spam words are used.

Here is the interesting part:
When sending the exact same message through Outlook 365 (I have the same domain & account connected there), the email goes right through the inbox.

Question:
Can Gmail, Outlook and other email providers see if I'm sending mails through an SMTP server + mail sender software or through the Outlook 365 application?? Can they tell ?
As to me this is mind blowing o_Oo_Oo_O

If anyone got some expertice and can shed some light on that subject, would be highly appreciated!

Cheers

I don't think expert is needed for this question.
You can proxy anything in the world but not mailing so every mailer company will clearly known from what and where your sending from ( IP , Domain ).

When your email body has no links , only text without spam words they are sent to inbox only. When you include content , product links ETC., Real mailing starts and that is where you need warmup and start growing reputation on sending domain.

If any further questions you can ask here..

Good luck.

Thank you for providing me with an answer :)

However, here is the thing - when sending through the mailer program I use the same domain & IP (I guess) that I use on Outlook 365.
Just to give you an example;

When I send through the mailer program I use domain [email protected].
The SMTP relay is authenticated with SSL (name and password for the email account).

There are NO links and NO spammy words in the email at all, it's pure text - it has been working fine untill last week. All went to inbox, all good.
Now, all goes to SPAM, with the error code 550 High probability of spam.

I then tried to send the same message through the same domain, which is logged in to my outlook 365 desktop aplication.
No error code, and goes to Inbox???

Can the mailproviders see that I'm sending through an mail sending software, which gives me the error code 550 - as this is new to me?
I mean, sending the same message from the same domain but with my desktop outlook 365 gets me to inbox.

I do believe that the IP stays the same at all time, even when sending with mail sending software.

Let me know your thoughts.

I think that the problem is in your software that sends messages, most likely, your comments do not have enough original messages for this, and they are perceived as spam and are placed in a spam box. You can try the software from the https://www.xemailextractor.com/, I did not notice such problems with them that appeared by you
