Question for CloudWays users

Since Digital Ocean bought Cloudways and has been calling to suggest we switch from Vultr HF to Digital Ocean Premium, would you be switching?

They cloned my server to DO, and I recently pointed my DNS to the servers, but the speed is not as good as Vultr HF and many sites and comparisons online put Vultr HF above Digital Ocean. What are your thoughts also, are there any services EXACTLY similar to CloudWays?

If I where you (what a thought) I would switch to RunCloud.io combined with Vultr HF, fast as fck and fairly easy to setup.

Thanks, is it as easy to manage and operate as Cloudways, you know Cloudways makes it a tad easy for those of us with not much knowledge on managing servers.

Yes, difference is that you add your own Vultr accounts API key to RunCloud and launch servers directly from RunCloud. Try it and read the link above about setting it up. It would just cost you a couple of dollars to try it out. And in the long run you get cheaper service than CloudWays with your own Vulter account without price markup from CloudWays.

I switched from Cloudsays after DO bought them. I now have Hetzner + Ploi setup. I would also recommend Vultr HF + Runcloud. If you are a complete noob and don't want to mess with this kinda stuff, I'd suggest sticking with Cloudways. Yes, you will pay a premium, but it's a good all-in-one beginner-friendly solution with an easy panel & fast customer support.

What's your experience like with Runcloud? It won't be as straightforward as Cloudways, is that what you are saying?

I haven't used it personally, but it gets recommended in the hosting & panel circles. As I said, Cloudways is all-in-one, It is all in one platform, so it's super convenient. Other solutions are separate you got your panel on one platform & server on another. In terms of setup, it's not difficult; there are many tutorials on youtube (I recommend IdeaSpot on YT). You can get up and running in less than 30 minutes. The bottom line for me is if you've got a website or two, go for Cloudways, but if you have many websites, go for the panel solution, it's more cost-effective.
