What does it mean when i do a dns leak test using this site and after doing the extended test even though I am using a dedicated proxy connected to the Czech Republic it shows the servers are in Germany? Does this mean there is a leak? https://www.dnsleaktest.com/

Are you located in the Czech republic? It could be that the proxy is showing up as a different location unless it is your IP leaking through

No I am in the UK and wanting to target viewers in the Czech Republic on tiktok. The DNS servers are saying Germany when I check for leaks.

doesn't sound like a reliable proxy to me

Your proxy is not perfect. I think you using shared proxy.

Probably you need to use "Resolve DNS through proxy" setting, or your proxy provider uses some 3rd party DNS.

Not necessarily a DNS leak if your location is England, proxy is connected to Czech Republic, but DNS servers shows up as being in Germany. Most likely your DNS requests are being routed through Germany, could be your proxy provider has servers there. Check your proxy settings if DNS can be routed through Czech server.

What you're describing doesn't quite sound like a DNS leak.

Czechia and Germany are neighboring countries. It's quite possible that the nearest optimal DNS server is located in Germany. This isn't a 100% guarantee, but you can check the city location of your proxy IP at https://ipinfo.io/. If it's a city in the part of Czechia closest to the German border, then you can probably relax.

Of course, if your proxy provider allows it, you can manually set the DNS server selection. But are you sure this will make things better? :)

I agree with Turelink that it might be somewhat pointless to look for problems unless you've encountered real issues with the proxy's operation. Sometimes, you might start worrying about something that isn't actually a problem at all.

If you wanting to target viewers in the Czech Republic on tiktok

your proxy should be mobile rotating proxy from big proxy providers, you need to find three-four providers and try them at once (starts at 5$ per 1gb with one provider)
your device hardcoded data should look like it was bought and registered in CZ
your fake gps should be hidden and turned on to CZ with a dynamic offset, so it looks like you move a bit (5-10m)
and more things, then no antifraud would detect since you have 3-4 providers and can choose which one at their best state now

I’m using a static residential proxy connected to Prague which is only a 4 hour drive from the German border so you could be right in that the DNS servers are saying Germany. Thanks for your help.

You should use residential rotating proxies, but what do you use to fake it? are you using any antideteci software?

no necesarely a leak, remember those sites base their result on information they get from the users that connect or information leak from other sites, there is no site that have their database updated to 100% with information of all available proxies, so either site info is out dated or those proxy details changed but were never updated even if is in a different country still register for another one, take that info with a grain of salt same with other sites but who knows how they get this info being honest.

I was using a mobile rotating proxy with SmartProxy but for some reason it was blocking me from downloading all apps from the apple store. Customer services were not much help so switched to a static residential proxy. Maybe you might know why it was blocking me from downloading apps?

Your IP address may have been flagged as suspicious. If your proxy IP address has been used for malicious activity in the past, Apple may have blacklisted it. This can happen if the proxy provider has poor security measures or if their proxies are used by spammers or hackers.
Your proxy may be using a shared IP address. If your proxy is using a shared IP address, it is possible that other users of the same IP address have been involved in activities that have caused Apple to block the IP address.
Your proxy may be located in a restricted region. Apple may restrict access to the App Store from certain countries or regions. If your proxy is located in one of these regions, you may not be able to download apps.
