Hello there,

I'm using Haro to acquire some backlinks for my site.

In order for me to choose the ideal sites that will lift up my site authority and not the opposet.

I'm wondering, do you look for any specific metrics before pitching to sites?

Like Checking DR, etc... What kind of metrics do you look for to choose the sites to pitch to?

If you're in the beginning, generally any website would lift your website up.

After acquiring some backlinks, generally, you want websites with higher DR than you. You also need them to have at least 1k traffic.
There are also other things to check about websites before attempting to get a backlink from them like their backlink for example. However, this would be very time-consuming in the HARO process.

Also, start with websites that are niche relevant to you.

Thank you for your answer mate!

I'm not at the beginning, The site is doing good, and I've already had some success acquiring some good backlinks from Haro.

Currently, I acquire backlinks through guest-posting for which I look out for the same traffic you mentioned: >2k traffic + DR + Backlinks + Outgoing domains, etc...

But as you said, it's very hard to replicate that in the HARO process, I only have my writers in the Haro process look for the DA higher than mine.

In my case, what would you do to get the right links in the Haro process?

PS: I am focusing on both direct niches and closely related niches.

the only metric I care about is getting backlinks from sites with real traffic.

I got a backlink doing a guest post from a major sport news site (think ESPN size) for my business which has nothing to do with sports. The result was amazing!

Ssme here. I agree with this.
I mean, what's the usefulness if at the end you get no traffic. I am also looking at the HARO method. Could you give me some tips how to HARO as I have never tried it before but would like to get started now. ny useful resource to read or watch?

Are the majority of your backlinks coming from far related niches? If I may ask, how long have you been acquiring backlinks like these? (I want to get a clear idea of how sustainable this is)

@crystalwiz
It's to increase your DA/DR of your site. You can then pass on that juice to other pages. Doing this in scale overtime, will impact the power of your site in terms of outranking other sites (assuming your content is solid)

I get backlinks from my clients doing guest posts on their site. Their business has absolutely nothing to do with my niche. They are all real businesses and they have traffic.

my guest post is buried deep in their site. I only care about backlink and not actual visitors.

i don't have a porn or a gambling business as clients. If I did, I would not be doing this guest post with them !

Interesting to know! Thank you for the valuable insight!

So, if my deduction is correct, the only metrics you look for in your guest post sites are traffic and possibly DA?

traffic and its own backlink profile. you can easily see legit backlink profiles vs. fake backlinks

Thank you mate!! Yes, I agree, sometimes I see lot of backlinks coming from google site, comments/forums, and even some blogger related sites, and at times a lot of shady subdomains links.

But don't you think that the sites that pay actually to access a platform like Haro or others are legit and don't use shady tactics? Since they mostly legit businesses?

yes - I agree. still i would check their backlink profile if their name is not known

Was your site affected by the latest google update? Because I heard a few people doing an audit and some tests and found out that it may be related to irrelevant backlinks, did you experience any drop?

"Knock on wood..."

I always check DA, PA, and SS of any website. Besides, the website's visitors should be more than 1k.
