I want to register a new domain. I want it to be an EMD however the domain i want for ".com" is already registered. I can register domain: abc123.co.uk or a-b-c-1-2-3.com . Which would rank better? Do .com domains rank better than .co.uk?
Thanks
One dash is ok for ranking with, basically the dash is treated as a space. Haven't done as well with multiple dashes in domains. Not really an issue unless you are planning to develop to the point where you might lose some type in traffic to the non-dash dot com (word1word2)
abc123.co.uk is a good iead & a-b-c-1-2-3.com worst.. EMD is effecting in hyphens if you are using 2 words domain like if myexample.com has taken then my-example.com is a good choice...
.com is primary TLD so its always ranks better then all other TLD's but if you want to target only UK market then of-course go with .co.uk TLD and use UK base hosting...
