I want to register a new domain. I want it to be an EMD however the domain i want for ".com" is already registered. I can register domain: abc123.co.uk or a-b-c-1-2-3.com . Which would rank better? Do .com domains rank better than .co.uk?
    Thanks

.com is the most preferred domain extension...if .com is not available then u can go for .net and then .org...avoid hypens "-" in domains

From the top tlds only .co.uk is really free. So i should go with .co.uk without hypens rather than .com domain with hypens?

.co.uk is country TLD unless you want to rank in google.co.uk, its terrible to go with .co.uk to rank on google.com

    may be abc-123.com than a-b-c-1-2-3.com

One dash is ok for ranking with, basically the dash is treated as a space. Haven't done as well with multiple dashes in domains. Not really an issue unless you are planning to develop to the point where you might lose some type in traffic to the non-dash dot com (word1word2)

Keep it simple. Give the people what they want. Less "."'s the better.

    Home Page:
abc123.co.uk is a good iead & a-b-c-1-2-3.com worst.. EMD is effecting in hyphens if you are using 2 words domain like if myexample.com has taken then my-example.com is a good choice...

.com is primary TLD so its always ranks better then all other TLD's but if you want to target only UK market then of-course go with .co.uk TLD and use UK base hosting...

You can go for the .net tld, avoid opting for the .org tld because people have been facing issues with ranking these domains.
