Hi,

I want to start a amazon affiliate niche website. Here I'm confused about picking proper domain name

I want to choose a house hold products and is it good to pick website name as best[product].com like bestshavers.com

I write reviews on products. Can i able to rank if there is already ranking affiliate review websites on same niche

As i'm new to IM i was very confused about picking domain name Please suggest.

Can any one please help me on this

between .com and .net which one is good?

.com

I would choose workingmansreviews.com/shavers instead of bestshaveringreviews.com, gives you more scope to promote different products.

Go with .com if you can. I personaly never use emd but its up to you. These days to rank well you need bigger sites so go with a brandable name instead and build a big site. So instead of bestshavers.com i would choose shaversheaven.com or similar.

I'd recommend going after brandable name as onlineonly said.

Here's one tool which is really awesome and helpful.
wordoid {dot} com

com is the one to choose and .net and .org will be your 2nd and 3rd options if there is no .com available, and if it's a review website then you can select the name as best [product] reviews com so it'll be better for your sites SEO health.

It depends on the route you want to go.

Any name can be suitable so long as you optimize your pages.

Avoid having the product name/number in your domain otherwise Amazon won't approve your account or release the funds to you.

Names like bestshavers.com are perfect but will restrict you to just shavers.
Well, again it's still okay if you rinse and repeat the process in various other niches.

There are just different approaches to making money online..

I always try to choose .com, if they are available. This article just sums up all the reasons to choose .com over .net or other domains. I believe you already know most of the reasons, it just may help you decide.

When choosing a domain name, purchase a name with the ".com" extension. Here is why:
* Your domain will just look better with the ".com" than any other TLD.
Most people take ".com" websites more seriously than those with any other extension just as a man wearing a tie will be taken more seriously in most conservative circles than if he was wearing a bowtie or scarf.
Many companies decide to change the type of their organization just so they can have "Inc." printed on their business cards and
letter heads. It just looks better, smarter, more serious.
* Many Search Engine Optimization experts stress the importance of using ".com". Some believe there is no other option.
Experiments have been made when a few websites were created with exactly same name, content, etc. - one had the ".com"
extension and the other ones ".biz", ".tv", ".net", etc. Apparently the ".com" site ranked higher in Google than the rest of them. Google also takes men wearing a tie more seriously.
* When making a domain name purchase, if you choose one with a TLD different than ".com", there is a great chance that you will
lose some or many prospects. Many people might remember your domain name but as they enter it into their search engine they will subconsciously put
".com" at the end.You might not lose them forever but your competitor who has registered the same name as yours but with the ".com" at the end will get new customers. Whenever you have a chance to use ".com" don't even consider any other options (except, of course, when you are registering secondary domains).
