Will a website be able to increase it's ranking and domain rating (DR) if it multiple backlinks from a high DR website?

For example, I have a domain with 100 do-follow backlinks from just 10-15 high DR websites.

You should try and get one backlin only from a high da site

Does it mean that a website will not increase its DR when there are only a few domains referring even if it has hundreds of backlinks from each domain?

In my opinion, multiple backlinks from a strong website will still be better than one backlink from that website. However, I think that the same number of backlinks spread out across multiple strong websites will be better than what you have going on.

Sounds fine what you have done so far, keep adding backlinks every month.

Yes, it will.

To up your DR, you need strong links from high DR websites. (according to Ahrefs own definition)

I think, only one backlink will count towards DR per unique domain (prove me wrong)

So if only one backlink will count per domain will increase the DR, the other backlinks from the same domain are useless?

Yes for the most, if you keep on adding more backlinks from the some domain, they are becoming useless very fast.

Otherwise SEO would be too easy, just use links from a few domains?

If it's from 100 different websites it will give good impact on rankings...

Number of referring domain is also an important factor

They are not completely useless in general but I don't think DR will grow more. Only the first discovered one will count (probably - I'm not sure)

To understand how links work you have to understand what link purposes are.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin created google on a citation-based search engine.
How do we get these citations? Links! and links are other sites shouting you out and telling google
that this site trusts you enough to do their "research" and put your link in. Then spam came, nofollow, sponsored, ugc and all the other AIDS attributes.

Google will always rely on links for ranking. It is how you use them that determines how google likes them.

I don't know why folks are more obsessed with DR on their site than ranking

Focus on getting 1 backlink from high DA sites...rather than multiple links from the same site...

I usually suggest you to get one link from one domain. If you get multiple links from the same domain, it will be a footprint and google will consider this as a spam. It will definitely affect your site and it will not grow your metrics. So you can build links from unique high DR domains for more better results.

Are we talking about links from a single website? Because if the answer is yes, then you’ll be looking at some greatly diminishing returns. One backlink is great, another one is fine, but more than that will barely have any effect. You can do it, sure, but it probably won’t be worth the time, money, and effort.

It is better to get links from different sites, which will increase the referring domains and more links from the same site will not have much effect.

This could be enough to get you ranked depending on the competition, this wouldn't raise your DR too much though.

Backlinks from higher DR sites will help in increasing DR, make sure it's good quality and relevancy.
