Hi all!

So I checked the username that I want several times on IG , but it always says username isn't available. But if you search for user , no one (with that particular username) exists.

Why is that? Is there any method to bypass or get that username as the user(with that name) isn't available.

It is possible that a user with that username existed, and the account got suspended.

Its kinda sketchy. Sometimes I come up with great usernames, try to register them but all of a sudden they "detected suspicious behavior" and I can't register them. What makes it even more ridiculous: When I try to change the username of an existing account to this new and nice username, it simply doesn't work and gives me an error, but when I try to change it to a random username, it works.

because you already created the account but IG "detected suspicious behavior", so you can't change the existing account to "already created great username acc" anymore :D

It happens that you get banned on register and when you try again it's already created. I know, it's stupid, but it happens

The account is not created. I know what you mean and I have run into this problem before, when they would immediately suspend the account after creation. What I am talking about is: They don't even let me create the account and just give me an error beforehand. Like "You can't create the account due to suspicious behavior", but they let me create the account if I enter a random username like "doigjsfosjfiaair339", then it works without any problems.

I am pretty sure they have a way to detect "premium" usernames.

Btw. I think Instagram should delete/remove all the accounts, which haven't been used for longer than one year. There are just so many dead accounts with great usernames. But I guess they would never do it, because their userbase would probably drop by 40% or more

Happens with me lot of time. One could be reason that the old accounts got suspended and instagram not giving permission to create new accounts with that usernames.

There are only 2 possible reasons.
1. The account with that username got banned. Instagram never releases banned usernames. They're gone forever.
2. Someone else is squatting on your username. People do it all the time, myself included. People get it registered and keep it as it is and some deactivate it after creating the account. Deactivation is done to protect the account from others who may mass report it to get it banned.

There's also another possible reason, if someone registers multiple accounts from the same phone and fingerprint, IG disables them immediately upon sign up with the error 'something went wrong'. Now some people just give up on that account and the username is gone forever. You can get it back though but IG asks for your selfie with a one time code.

Just add an extra character to make it unique, also wait for a few hours and try again if you still believe the username is available.

Someone might have had the username and changed it to something else. Instagram reserves that username for 15days.
