Purpose of SMM panels.

For quite sometime I've enjoyed using SMM panels & methods to fluff up my numbers on Instagram. In no way is my profile meant for a business, but I am an armature photographer and at times I do take some pictures that gain a good amount of likes w/o using panels. I've read a few threads from users that claim that using SMM panels will not get you to the discovery page, let alone improve your reach to your own followers. What is the point of SMM panels then? if they are so popular, they must have some use to them, beyond making your numbers on your own profile look better...right?

It only makes your numbers look 'right'. It doesn't have positive effect for your account.

They will get you on discover page for sure. smm.net always did the job for me. Not sure about other panels.

What kind of service would you purchase? Fake engagement got you to discovery page?

Even the services that promote things such as "power likes", and targeted likes & impressions?

Power likes are a different thing and I didn't think you were talking about them. Those (not from all of the providers, though.) have a positive effect for your account.

Ah. Will powerlikes help get a post onto the discovery page? Or will they help with impressions on your post?

I had a video page a few months back, i purchased Random views (worldwide) and random likes (worldwide). Could be because of my niche though. But got thousands of views every day. I cant speak how stuff works now, but a few months back it worked for me.
