To protect private details (name & Address) - Let's say one have a prviate domain registrar - Does one need private HOST as well???

No, the host do not show your name and address, they only show the IP address your site is hosted on.

Nope, you can have hosting anywhere. The privacy will just hide your personal information from the public.

Thanks for the replies guys.

The reason I ask is that I see some sites offering "both private domain AND private hosting".
I always thought private domain was enough to keep personal details secure.

And if I hear you correctly, there is no way for the average (or slightly skilled) websurfer to find out the owner-details for a site which does have private domain, but not "private hosting"?

Yes, you will be fine with just enabling privacy on your domain. Any respectable hosting company will not divulge the information of their customers unless they are served with a subpoena.

Thanks again! I appreciate it.
*thumbs up*
