Thumb up !!

This tool is one of the best FF add-ons I've ever seen. New proxies is updated everyday.
The interface is simple and easy (even noob like me can use it ha ha). Great job Portalweb :).

From another thread (here)

Thanks for bringing up this missing feature (keyboard shortcuts) for proxy tool FF plugin. This feature will be added on the next revision - maybe in 1 week.

Please post your wish list in the thread here:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/proxies/242737-get-proxy-tool-plugin-firefox.html

Many thanks! :)

Holy smokes!

If this is realised this tool will LITERALLY be the BEST proxy-related-tool addon there is. Even now it's kickass already but with keyboard implementation it will dominate.

Thank you for writting this awesome piece of software OP. Appreciate it!

Thanks for your gracious comments about the proxy tool FF plugin.

I agree with you that we need the keyboard shortcuts added for the proxy tool FF plugin. In that case, we will add the keyboard shortcuts as described below:

Shift+3 - Open HTTPS import window and paste the HTTP/HTTPS proxy list in it.
Shift+4 - Open Socks4 import window and paste Socks4 proxy list in it.
Shift+5 - Open Socks5 import window and paste Socks5 proxy list in it.

Shift+E - to turn on/off proxy services (red/green)
Shift+S - to switch to next proxy IP

Shift+H - Switch to HTTP/HTTPS Proxy Type
Shift+K - Switch to Socks4 Proxy Type
Shift+O - Switch to Socks5 Proxy Type
Shift+R - Switch to next HTTP Referrer (override Default/Random/Rotate)
Shift+? - Help (opening proxy tools FF help web site)

Shift+C - Clear all Flash cookies/Site Cookies

Please let me know if it's acceptable - then I'll have these new keyboard shortcuts incorporated into Proxy Tool FF plugin, along with one minor improvement related to http referrer services.

Until then, please stay tuned...and let others know about this proxy tool FF plugin.

This seems like a good enough mapping.

You could use shift+f1 for help. It didn't interfere with anything here on my end but others should check just in case.

I just had another idea.
Many times when I use loads of proxies I tend to forget to unintentionally cycle through them and then end up using the same ones (extremely undesired when creating several accounts on one forum that has restrictions against that).

How about implementing a "warning" or a "notice" or something like it that would let you know once you cycle through all the proxies you got?

A popup "you are now reusing this list #2nd time, 3rd time, 4th time and so on".

On/off configurable in the settings.

This would be a blast!

Shift-F1 key for "help" is much better, as it will work with Apple Mac keyboard.

I agree with your idea. We want to ensure that we will not spend more time on fixing - as we want everything added in there at once with fewer revision cycles.

Additional improvements:

1) New Keyboard shortcut (with the additional keyboard shortcuts as mentioned earlier):
Shift-D - Reset everything to default mode. (similar to "on/off" configuration)

2) Proxy list with proxies are labeled with numbers (1-100) as "current proxy position"

3) After the proxy switch (Shift+S - to switch to next proxy IP) or http referrer (Shift+R - Switch to next HTTP Referrer) is updated, the tooltip balloon will appear. The proxy position # will be displayed in the tooltip.

I do not like pop-up window screen that would requires the users to press "OK" button (so 90's). Keep it simple - easy to use - more effective use of time by minimizing the numbers of interactive to 2 clicks or less.

I think we will have the next updated Proxy Tool FF plugin revision by this weekend.

Thanks!

I had another idea earlier when I was outside on a walk,

There is this plugin called "quick locale switcher".

what it does is, it sends the website a fake localization information.
Meaning, if your regional is set to english, you can make it look like it is french/italian/german...

Link here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1333/

Now my idea is this.
Integrate locale switcher and IP location together. When an ip is from the US, display US regional, when it is from France, display french regional, when it's from Italy, display italian.

This would trully be the "cherry on top" at this already great tool. :)

That "auto" locale feature is already included in the spoofed user agent (browser) feature. The locale selection depends on the proxy list itself. If the proxy list (designed for this proxy tool FF plugin) is downloaded from proxylist.co member dashboard, it has the specific country code that will be assigned for the user agent automatically.

Your idea about the locale switcher options is very helpful. You know, I try to minimize number of steps in dealing with the user interactive. I'll sleep on it, thinking on how to make it very easy for anyone to use the locale switch feature.

Meanwhile, please try to play with the user agent come with proxy tool FF plugin - and examine it with the browser detection online web (such as http://analyzemy.net ) to see the details there - and let me know of your thoughts on this one. :)

Keep your ideas coming! :)

We are working on improving the next proxy tool FF plugin revision based on the recommendations from others.

Small change in keyboard shortcut:
Shift-U - Upload (import) proxies to selectable HTTP(S), SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 (which replace Shift+3 - Shift+5 as mentioned in my earlier proposal)

We are also planning to incorporate the copy/paste using the clipboard (Ctrl-C) into this tool that will automatically paste the list into Upload (import). In other words, if you have already copied the proxy list using CTRL-C (or ><-C for Mac) to clipboard, the list will be automatically pasted into the upload/import textbox. We believe this feature is very useful.

Until then, please stay tuned.

Great plugin!! Saves time searching for a proxy and then changing all the settings, thanks for sharing!!

Thanks.

We found one minor bug with the http referrer feature. It will be fixed, along with the new keyboard shortcuts feature added to the proxy tool FF plugin. I think we may have it ready for download by this Wednesday.

Until then, stay tuned.

Excuse me, but I am new to this whole proxy thing, but I am importing proxies from the proxy subforum to the plugin and I've since been unable to connect to any website since the proxy is turned on. What am I doing wrong?
Edit:

I keep getting this error:
The proxy server is refusing connections

Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

* Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.

* Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is
working.

You have the bad proxies. If you got the proxies from the forums here instead of real proxy providers (proxylist.co or private proxy providers here), there will be no guarantee that these free proxies are working because they are not lately tested.

Please try to test the "free" http proxies come with proxy tool FF plugin or grab the free http proxies from http://proxylist.co/freeproxy.php site.

Hope it helps.

@Portalweb This is actually a GREAT plugin, thanks for the awesome work. I'd like to add a suggestion based on what I use to do with my own tools when it comes to faking the user agent. A quick look at any webserver log reveals that common user agents are followed by a string like: ".NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30;" almost every time. It might probably be beneficial to add a few of these strings in the "randomizer" algorithm... Just sharing this idea to yield to a more realistic experience... Hope this helps and again, great JOB! :-)
