Proxy for telegram

Hi I need help understanding how to use a proxy for telegram.
1. If i buy a telegram acount, will I have difficulties using the account with a proxy that I acquired which is not the IP which was used to create the account.
2. What kind of proxy is best for telegram so that I will not be banned.
3. Any there is tips on how to use the proxy safely with telegram for longevity.

Either use web telegram with a proxy set in the browser. Any residential or mobile proxy provider is fine.
Or, use a VPN to use TG app. It’s a bit risky considering the IPs of most of the VPNs are highly abused.

anti detect browser+ipv4/residential proxy works pretty good
 
4G/5G mobile proxies are the safest option with minimal risk of bans, as they rotate naturally.
 
Static ISP proxies work well with telegram. You can use a proxy on your phone by using shadowrocket or some app like that

To add proxies you have to login into the account first and then setup your proxy details in your settings .

For TG there are a lot of good & free options , one of them used in 3rd world countries is MTProto , mainly for speed and Connection censorship. It is also quite easy to use.

For the above proxy ( MTProto) they have if i remember well an app that will work but you can add the proxy details from your Account Settings .

Why do you have to change IP, avoid using 1 IP too often?
How often do you change IP?

If you log in from a different IP, especially a different region, it may trigger verification or restrictions, so try to match the proxy location to the account's original region. Mobile or residential proxies are the safest for Telegram since they mimic real user behavior. To avoid bans, use a stable proxy, avoid frequent IP switching, and keep activity natural to prevent triggering Telegram's security checks.
 
Mobile proxies are well suited for telegram as telegram uses mobile IPs. For longevity, try warming up the accounts, join groups and interact. Don't be too spammy tho to avoid getting flagged.
 
The proxy IP service provider can integrate the proxy service into Telegram very well. It is recommended that you use the ISP proxy as the long-term login environment.
 
Static ISP ips would work the best, as you really don't want to mess the IP rotation and get flagged up when your IP suddenly changes.

For TG, you can just register and use it directly with a virtual phone number—it works well enough.

Yup, you can run into issues logging in from a different IP — especially if the proxy location is far from the account’s original country. Telegram might flag it or ask for re-verification (SMS).

Go with residential or mobile proxies over datacenter — they’re way less likely to trigger blocks or flags.

Tip: stick to the same IP per session (sticky sessions help), avoid constant IP/location changes, and don’t go too hard on automation.

Also neat trick: you can instantly open a proxy in Telegram with a link like this:
tg://socks?server=1.2.3.4&port=1080&user=demo-user&pass=demo-pass
Just tap it and Telegram will auto-connect. Super handy if you're swapping setups often.
