Proxy Farm

Initially, I want to start my journey of building my proxy farm.


I would like to get some advice.


I bought ZTE MF79U dongles
Windows PC
Orico USB hub


My question is, do you think I can do this on Windows? I don’t have knowledge of Linux, so that’s why I preferred to use Windows, since I have an old PC at home.


When I plug the dongles into the PC, they are recognized as CDs, and this is giving me a huge headache to fix, especially since I can’t find any firmware anywhere that can solve this. Can someone help me?

First of all, it's important to know which software you want to use. For dongles, there’s Proxidize (very expensive), XProxy, and ProxySmart.
But to get started, I’d personally recommend using smartphones – it’s much easier. You only need a smartphone, a SIM card, and an app like iProxy or Localtonet.

Which you failed to mention that both are paid.
 
I’ve already tried using an Android phone through the Localtonet program. However, when I checked on Browserleaks, my IP was showing up as VPN or tunnel, which is really bad. I was using SOCKS5 and it was still showing that. On top of that, having 100 phones is a huge fire risk and takes up a massive amount of space.


Does anyone have a solution?

bad preconditions..
You should check what OS best suits for advanced routing and traffic manipulation, and use it (tip: it is not Windows).

custom firmwares can be found on 4pda, but in most cases zte MF79 are plug-n-play and they don't need reflashing.

There must be an issue with your setup because locatlonet works very great. But easier to setup is iProxy.

Yes, it's possible to build your proxy farm on Windows, but it’s more tedious compared to Linux. The ZTE MF79U showing up as a CD drive is due to the HiLink mode (auto-install mode). You’ll need to switch it to modem-only mode using tools like usb_modeswitch (mainly for Linux), or find modified Huawei drivers or use AT commands on Windows. If you want a cleaner experience, dongles like Quectel or Alcatel tend to behave better. For managing multiple proxies, tools like Proxifier + TinyProxy or GUI-based systems like Analogbox or Proxidize can help a lot.
