I've only recently come across BHW and I can't believe the amount of information my SEO plan was missing. I've recently launched an Ecommerce website and will be concentrating on SEO and building traffic over the next few months.

Here's my backlink plan in diagram format, all information has been cultivated from posts from contributors here on BHW.

It's completely in it's 'theory' stage, and I'd imagine I've got a lot of things wrong. Whether it be the incorrect/outdated software, wrong methods, wrong volumes, over-complicated etc..

So if anyone would like to criticise/comment, your input and advice is more than welcome.

Goddamn, OP. Well done.

I dare say you are the greatest example of someone actually joining the forums, reading up, researching and putting together a really detailed, thorough and comprehensive plan of action.

As such, I hope you get thorough feedback in this thread and I'll be sure to add mine once I've had the time to look over it properly. I will say this though, if every new member put in half the effort you have, hell, if a lot of members put in half of the effort you have here to create a great SEO discussion, we'd be a hell of a lot better off. Lesson to many of us (myself included) of what standards should be reached on a regular basis.

Goddamn, OP. Well done...

wow! Thanks for the reply Smeems! I guess there's no point in doing it if you're not going to do it properly..

I still wouldn't have a clue about any of this if it wasn't for BHW, so it's all thanks to you guys. Just hope my plan is on the right track!

Hi,

This is great fair play for putting this together and I have just started out too (6 months). i am working on 3 sites atm with very good results - although am still learning everyday!

From what I can see, although I am no expert, is maybe add some LSI keywords which randomly backlink to all of your URLS on your sitemap, which helps with penguin. Also, how about adding niche specific links, which again helps protect the site.

My question is; are people getting much juice from retweets and FB shares etc?

HT

Diagram looks good. It does depend on how it's put together but on the face of it it looks reasonable. A few points: why are you building press releases to tier 1 sites and not your money site, why are you using programs like bookmarking demon when you have ultimate demon and why would you want to blast your money site with blog comments using SB? I am guessing where you have put 1 web 2.0 site per day this means 1 manually built blog that doesn't look spammy? If you have ultimate demon, would you not want to do web 2.0 blasts and document sharing blasts too?

On a different note, what program did you build the diagram in?

Thanks for your reply, and for the questions.

You may have interpreted my diagram incorrectly. There is my money site, tier 1, and tier 2. Press releases form part of my tier 1, which will link to the money site

why are you using programs like bookmarking demon when you have ultimate demon
Good point. As I mentioned, I'm not familiar with any of this software yet so I'm not confident on what functionality they offer. I'll update my diagram, thanks.

why would you want to blast your money site with blog comments using SB
Scrapebox would be used only to find the appropriate blogs, comments would be manual. That should make sense from my understanding, probably wrong lol.

Basically yes. The diagram is still just a draft really, I'll probably elaborate on that a bit later

I didn't know it offered this. I'll update my diagram, thank you.

I just used Excel 2010!

That makes sense, good snippet of advice, thanks. I need to read up on LSI..

All the best with your sites.

I think you have got in a muddle with your tiers then as the press release points to the tier 1 block. I presumed that the links going to your money site were your tier 1s and the links going to your tier 1s were your tier 2s.

SB would work for this but normally you would use SB to scrape loads of blogs and to post to them automatically to lower tiers. Posting to auto approve sites is handy for getting things indexed.

Doing that in Excel must've taken a while. I looks good though!

I would make sure to have high quality controls on the forum and blog comment links pointing directly at the site. While not all links of these types are bad, make sure they have good PR and are relevant. If not, it would be better investing in more of the other tier 1 types.

Correct, I think. I guess the blocks with the Tier numbers in are missleading. Both the items pointing to Tier 1 block and the block itself represent Tier 1, which all point to my money site. Tier 2 block (which is everything that points to it), is my tier 2 which point to tier 1 links. I know my diagram is confusing but I hope that makes sense.

I get you. Thanks for clarifying.

Well it was pretty simple really! Pretty much everything is copy and paste. And thanks.

That confirms my suspicions. I've read a few negative things about both of these in relation to recent Google updates. I'll be sure to keep a tight leash on it, much appreciated!

I just wanted to add something regarding my choice of keywords. All my efforts will revolve around 4 chosen keywords.

I've seen a couple of tiered link building using different keywords for each tier, where the keyword choice gets more long tailed as you go down the tiers. But I've decided to use the same keywords and keyword diversity throughout all tiers. Mainly because it's easier and also I just get the feeling it won't amount to a huge difference.

So, here's how they'll look:

30% : Generic anchors ("read more", "click here", "find out more")
30% : Company name
20% : Target keywords
20% : Variation of target keywords

Any thoughts welcome.

edit: I'll probably update this now after reading up on LSI keywords...
