Hello there, this is proof that YouTube algorithm (Also doing the same thing on TikTok) is complete crap.

These videos that you can see on the image are downloaded from YT shorts and re-uploaded a few minutes ago, it contain funny stupid videos that you can see over and over and over again when scrolling on yt/tiktok shorts.

BUT, when i create something myself, invest time = 0 views, I can already hear a soundtrack from Titanic in my head and video sinks even faster than a Titanic.

Now I keep downloading and reuploading these crap "funny" videos that people see the same thing every day over and over again on their For You Page.

OR maybe the YouTube algorithm is not crap? People just want to watch the same funny videos over and over again? BUT, how is it possible that videos that I create from scratch get even 0 views for days? That means the algorithm is somehow checking the video for popular soundtrack from video and checking video content so it will push it again and keep people watching?

I see videos with SAME music = Gets thousands of views.
I see SAME "funny" compilation videos = Gets thousands of videos.
Every day when I visit TikTok or YT shorts = I see those crap funny videos even when my FYP is refreshed, even when new account is created, even when I blocked some accounts AND I select an option that I don't like that video, but it will show me later the SAME video from another user that he uploaded that same video.

Welcome to the new internet
Algorithms does not reward creativity, if you want to make money on YT, TikTok, IG Reels,FB Reels, etc, you need to be a slave of trends, be just another cattle creating the same garbage
Or even just reposting the same shit
Social media nowadays is highly dependent on rehashed content, nothing really new is being created in a large scale, just using, reusing, rehashing old content
Depressing reality

That's true, but think about how massive the algorithm is. When you create something completely new and original, it doesn't know exactly what to do with it or even what category to put it in. So your video ends up in a very long queue while the algorithm figures it out.

Meanwhile, videos with proven formats, trending sounds, and a history of good performance get pushed to the front because the algorithm already knows people are likely to watch them. By the time it finally gets around to testing your video, people have already put their phones away and gone to work. Womp womp what a tragedy!

If your video still doesn't find the right audience, it can end up in another queue, and eventually it just sits in the archive collecting dust. But if it's genuinely good - or it happens to match a trend years later - the algorithm suddenly starts recommending it again.

That's probably why we sometimes get those "legendary refresh pulls," where a random 10-year-old video suddenly appears in our feed as if it were just uploaded.

If you want to download a video and repost to YouTube you have to change the meta data so that YouTube treats it as a fresh short.

I use Instagram Edit and export in 4k.

Never had a problem.

Although tbf most of my content is oc but for the ones I've downloaded I did that tactic and it worked like a charm.

The algorythm rewards what's being watched, that's the universal truth, being it good or bad. Many people will spend some hours seeing funny videos (and sending then to others) while few will spend time on a video of a specific theme. That's natural

Yeah, it’s not surprising. It’s really sad for the creators and the audience. But on the other hand, this kind of crap has been going on for so long that it’s made me cynical. So I find myself thinking that, ultimately, for blackhats just looking to make money, maybe it’s not such a bad thing to get in on this shit.

but do you think this is actually a plaform problem or more like a people problem?? like algorithms only push what gets engagement — so isn't it technically us (the viewers) who keep rewarding the rehashed stuff by clicking on it, wich means we're kind of the ones who created this cycle in the first place?

I notice same thing if you follow trends garbage content rank higher than if you make original and quality ones that is not trending

@valac1993 It’s not that the algorithm is “checking soundtracks and content to push the same crap.” It’s simpler and worse:
The algorithm only cares about watch time + retention + engagement in the first few minutes. Recycled meme compilations with familiar music already have proven retention patterns, so they get pushed hard. Original videos start from zero signal, so they die in the void unless they immediately hit the same retention numbers.
People do keep watching the same dumb clips on loop the algorithm just amplifies what already works. New creators get buried because the system is optimized for safe, predictable dopamine, not for originality.

What I would suggest is to try a stronger hook at the beginning of your videos and change the content to something catchier (even though this is not possible in every niche).
