Promoting affiliate link without a website?

So you know how most affiliate programs require you to say what your website is. What do you put there if you don't want to promote it on your website like if you just want to have the link to spread around.

In most programs are you allowed to do that? Or do they prefer you just put it on your website?

Can someone clear this up for me a bit?

If you are talking about social media like Instagra, Twitter etc.. Then you should definantley link to your website first, it's a much higher chance that you get banned if you use a affiliate link in your profile.

I'm mostly asking about when you are signing up to be an affiliate and it asks you to put your website.

Is that because you have to use the link on your website?

I haven't done any affiliate marketing so this may seem like common knowledge but I'm just confused about it atm.

Most places will want to see a good looking website because of their past experiences with low quality affiliate marketers.

If you can say a confident few words in a comment section instead, explaining what you have done before, or what you can do, it might help.

So if I have one solid site it will be easier to sign up and get links. Now if you give them a site. Are you mainly only supposed to market the link on the site or are you free to put it anywhere? I know this will probably vary a lot with each program but what is the norm?

Not all affiliates allow you to do that, plus having websites rises chances of getting lead

A website will give you ease to maintain and promote a affiliate links. Promoting affiliate links is quite hefty task and needs lot of work.

It sorta depends on who you're applying to
With some of the larger networks you can get away with being pretty vague, especially if you're from a tier 1 country
Once you're in youll usually see what type of traffic is allowed for each offer, so it's not mandatory that you use a specific site

You buy a domain , then you set the domain up
To foword to the afflicate link.
