Seriously, I had an issue with a react code and asked chatgpt 4 to fix it for me, it didn't know how to fix it and it went ahead and changed my code and then used a react hook inside a loop and a callback, which it definitely knows it won't work.it can even present fantasy functions that dont even exist lol

Chatgpt is really bad when it comes to coding, it can do simple coding and can't go beyond that, I tried chatgpt 4 my self, that thing can't take programmers job, not any time soon
if you use them form simple scripts for personal use maybe it will make the job done but if you want to build complex logic with third party libraries in a scaling business app it failsI'm genuinely curious how hard you tried. I've seen seasoned coders say it sucks, and I've seen seasoned coder say it speeds up their workflow.
It definitely won't take any programmers full time jobs.... But I will say since GPT came out I haven't had to hire a programmer once. These are scripts I'd usually pay $200 - $2k for. And I can get them shipped faster, exactly how I want them.
I know less than basic when it comes to programming. I'm sure there are many others out there that are paying the $20 for GPT4 to get it done themselves instead of hiring freelancers.

I know people generating a lot more with it. Imagine just 1000 people doing this like me : $5000 x 1000 = $5,000,000 worth of work.
Replacing programmers is another story which is not going to happen soon. But there is definitely some value AI tools are providing right now which is already huge by itself.
