Problem with Amazon's phone pin verification.

Hey guys, I need quick help with a small problem I'm having right now. I'm operating a website on the health and fitness niche, and I've been using 2 different affiliate networks, both of them dealing both with cpa and affiliate sales. Recently after a recommendation from someone, I've decided to give the affiliate program in amazon a try.

BUT, when I'm going through the registration process and arrive at the identity verification, which involves inputting a pin, via phone call, my numbers/country code seem to be somehow "blocked"

I get this message: "Amazon is prohibited from making calls to the number you have entered"

I have tried imputing a few different numbers to no avail, and after a 3 tries all I get is this message: "We are sorry, you have exceeded the maximum number of failed PIN verification attempts we allow. Your registration cannot proceed at this time. Please wait 1 hour and try again."

As I've entered various numbers, I assume the problem must reside in my country code, or the communication laws/tariffs of incoming calls towards my country, as there isn't anything on Amazon's term specifying that my country is prohibited from either registering, or doing business with them, as an affiliate.

Do any of you have any experience in dealing with this? How should I solve this? Is there any way to create a temporary phone number via some sort of program/app? All I need is a 1 minute call to input the PIN, nothing else.

Shameless bump. Anyone else has any other ideas? Will creating something like a US Skype number work?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Google isn't helping with this one
 
I've ran into the same problem. Have you found a solution?

Bombed amazon support via various ways, but they can't help and just told me to frequently check back if the error is fixed.

At the moment, you can buy a US phone number and get your account verified through it.
 
i had the same problem with my phone number and i call amazon support center then they say me the pin by phone ,i think this is the phone from amazon support 00 1 206-266-2992
 
Sorry for picking up an old topic but I feel like I need to answer this, since I was trying to solve their damn pin verification problem for days.
I've spend a couple of hours looking for a free service capable of providing US number receiving call from Amazon. Obviously there are a lot of cheap paid options, but I knew there should be one free.
And I found textnow com. I know that a lot of folks here already know it, as sms receiving service among dozens of others, but this is the only one I found which is able to provide US number (free!) receive a real phone call and you can even type the PIN right in that service using their web interface.
I didn't activate my Amazon account yet using this, but I was able to receive a call from them and successfully enter the pin - it's just that I already spent my activation attempts on that time and decided to try later. But it really seems that it works. Will post here later with final verdict.

confirmed - just finished my registration.

I am having the same issue for 3 months now, just tried the textnow but still its says "we are having problems while calling".. have tried it with +1 code and without as well.. but doesnt worked with me.
to manually check the text now number.. its not showing the text msgs.. but voice messaging worked fine.. don't know whats going wrong.. my country origin is pakistan.. please see if someone could help further.

Try textnow with a different browser or configure your adobe flash player. I got textnow to work only with microsoft edge browser. To test if you can receive a call press on "New Call" it should open a dial pad, if it doesn't then the flash player hasn't configured correctly.

Hey thanks, just tried to do so with edge and firefox but cant even login there.. even now can do it on chrome as well.. may be i've tried to login with same ip multiple times gotta wait for a day i guess.. are there any other services like textnow ? ..

There probably aren't such restrictions.. Did you enter the correct password? Try to recover the password.

Just got it fixed on chrome. It can receive my call now.. but again I tried it with amazon, same error :( .. now im out of tries gotta wait few hours to try again..
but if this works.. I owe you guys big time :)

no.. it receives the call from my cell phone.. i can talk to it.. everything is fine.. but cannot get it through amazon.. just now again tried it but no luck. did it without +1.. first.. then again tried it with only 10 digit number.. error stays the same

Just open up the dial pad. It's there somewhere. Test it out before making the call.
