Nice one. But the biggest 'winners' here are the domains with high (or better: huge) DR...

I usually find them by chance. Browse SERPs looking for obvious sites that stand out for some reason, then research them.

Newbies are like - this is pure gold and whatnot. Yes it is, but might not workout for you! In fact, there are high chances it won't. What they fail to understand is the complexity involved in trying to outrank authority domains in those niches.
As someone else has mentioned, try filtering with a much lower DR, say DR less than 30/40. Else, you have almost ZERO chances of outranking those sites.
This isn't for every Dick, Tom and Harry. Know your place!
