Private vs Public Group whats better?

Hi guys,


Im currently growing a facebook group at a pace of about 200 new members a day. Im currently at 4.3k members. Do you think it would be beneficial to keep the group private to have potential members interested of whats inside? or make it public so that members can share posts?

Thank you for your reply sir. I had the same line of thinking. When it comes to growing your groups do you do any give aways or contests that will encourage people to invite their friends?

For example something like Invite 10 friends to the group for your chance to win xxxxxxx

Right now im just asking members to invite their friends so we can reach our current goal. Seems to be doing ok but its a very small percentage that is doing it.

No I don't do anything like that at all but I have seen that done.

I just let them grow organically but I do build groups that are similar in nature and advertise them in the related groups.

Yeah I'm looking forward to that real organic growth. Im assuming that will start picking up around 10k members.
 
If your group is about advertising and business its good to make it public so that potential customers can visit your group and request to be added but if your group is about personal discussion for certain topics then its up to you if you want to make it public. If you are much into internet privacy then better set it to private.
