Private email service

Yo guys!

I was thinking about e-mail services and if they're private enough.. I have to use email a lot in my work and I think it's not so safe. Maybe there are blockchain based emails (as it is very popular these days) or decentralized ones? As I don't want anyone to have an access to my correspondence.

What email service do you use on the whole? I want to collect all pros and cons in order to choose the best service for me.

use protonmail

private and free

Hmmm don't think there's such a thing as a safe email. Pretty sure all of them are reading/scanning your mails.

Best thing would be to run your own mail server like what Hillary did. lol

i've been using protonmail since they started years ago. highly recommended. i've never had a data breach or been hacked (like with gmail for example).

their paid plans are worth it too, as some of them include their VPN service.

Protonmail is one of the securer atm.

I agree with you, that's why I suppose that developers will work it out.
We can hope. Developers have their own opinion. They may not think about the user interface at all. We don't know the purpose of the developers.

I guess their purpose is to have access to users data.
Do you believe in that?

Why did they make a crappy user interface? Such a question should have been resolved at the level of service testing. Maybe they don't care, right?

I really don't know what was the goal to make so, but I think if it could be much popular, it would not have such issues.

He doesn't become popular. I'm sorry. We should look for something else.

I don't agree.
Popularity doesn't make any product or service great for usage.
Take a look at Facebook.
It's popular but has no any privacy.
I think people just afraid of trying new and unknown.

I agree with you. How can we use it if it doesn't become popular? I don't want to talk to myself)

What means of security do they have? I mean how can I be sure in it?
Moreover many email services have a big problem called spam mails. Does protonmail also has it?

100% scanned, who have doubts about that just read about your email server provider features, 100% of them have antispam filters, what they actually do? Watching each your mail. Providers like gmail, yahoo, and others uses your information extracted from each letter to show you relevant ads. It's their business. When you pay nothing for the service, it means that product now is you.

The best way to make email more safety and private to configure own email server and use OpenPGP for each letter. Your correspondents should do the same thing, or at least use OpenPGP.

But it my opinion it's too weak approach and dirty hacks because email not designed to be private and secure. Just need use messengers with open-source code and build-in encryption (tox, pidgin with OTR addon, ring.cx, etc).

Agree with nextime. The best way is PGP encryption and use any email service of your choice

protonmail is good, free and don`t need phone number mean less information I provide for the protonmail
