Private Blog Networks, Are they worth it?

Hi All,

We have been buying link packages on BHW for over a year now, we have had some very good results and on average spend around $1k a month.

Since the recent google update our ranking have taken a knock, (no site messages in Webmaster Tools) and have been looking at ways to recover (Dropped around 10 places for each keyword).

Currently I cannot decide on using a SEO management company to cover our whole campaigns or start building our own PBN. We have 1-2 sites to rank and so was wondering is this too small to warrant using our own PBN or would it work well?

My initial idea was having 10-20 sites pointing to shield site then linking to 1-2 money sites.

Would very much appreciate your suggestions/comments and also if you offer services like full SEO management or creating pbn's for customers, I am also interested in speaking with you.

Building your own PBN with High Authority sites would be the best you could do with your money and for your websites.
 
PBN still works if you have blogs that look natural (Privacy page, custom logo, header, Contact us page) and if you having less posts on blogs, You can PM me I can help you building your own network.

I would probably do some split testing. Take some of your sites that are similar in competition to each other and have some with a full service agency and some where you use your own PBN network.

I think you'll have more data to make a better informed decision that way.

I would love to do this but not really an option. Currently we only have 1 money site, and now working on a second, but these are not affiliate/dropshipping sites, it's an established branded e-commerce company.
 
PBNs are working great and it depends on how the sites in any PBN are maintained. As one of the member mentioned above, build your PBN with high authority sites and do some experiments on how it affect your ranking.
 
It really depends on a few things. If you are spending $1k a month then that is a lot, although if the results and ROI is there then it is an easier way to do it.

If you want to go down your own PBN route then it is mainly about doing it right. So make sure the sites you set up are niche relevant and NOT on SEO hosting. There are loads of things to consider really in making sure that your PBN does not get stung by Google.

Maybe just start off slow, get 5 sites and set them up to be a PBN and then start to link and watch for movement, then grow as your confidence with it grows.

Over time you can continue to grow and try to reduce your monthly fees for your PBNs you pay for.
 
Yes, PBNs still work if set up properly. Keep in mind that we are talking about PRIVATE blog networks, not public ones. For me, private means nobody else knows about it.

PBN works especially when used in a way to distinguish the fact, also why not look into quality guest posting, this just like a PBN but in a way thats is somewhat uncontrolable, it would make perfect sense for your spending, rather than using services like web 2s and bookmarks lol
 
PBN's work great if you know how to do it properly. Learn the ins and outs before you start or you could end up doing more harm than good.
 
In the long run, it is always better to control your own links. If you have the money and time to quickly set up your own network then you should consider doing it.

If you're just building it to rank a couple of sites then it should be fairly easy to set them up so that they are focused on the niche of your sites, and build them so they are actually proper sites, undetectable to the eye for what they really are.

Also regardless what they say here, your own PBN is the best and not rocket since as long as you know what your doing.. you can read everything you need to setup a good and powerful PBN here on BHW.
 
PBN is worth only if its truly private. I use public networks only for tier 2 links.
 
PBN's continue to work better than anything else... just use a little intelligence in executing the setup, and you'll be fine.
 
For me PBN works Great. Mainly i will work for Tier 2
Unique COntent With proper dripfeed.
 
Guys do you build a Contact page and About page for all of them ?

because it is very boring trying to write 50 page about me: hello welcome to abcd, 50 pages Contact me: for what? idk
 
PBNs are a great way to gain operating leverage. Doesn't work if you only have a few money sites...works like a charm if you have more money sites.
 
Just make sure that the sites are very, very natural, have lots of variety from each other (think different cms, design and writers) and don't link to each other.
