Pricing Forum Sigs, Please Advise

Hey guys/gals,
I want to find out how much forum sigs cost per month on average. I need a few forum sigs on various political, economic, and science based forums to promote a news forum I will be launching fairly soon which covers these 3 primary subjects. I have no idea what to bid on these sigs though. any clues?

It depends whether you are taking on rent or want to buy sigs forever. Prices vary depending on forum and age plus reputation of the account.

I didn't realize that people would sell them for a one time payment, I assumed it was a a monthly thing in all cases. Can anyone throw some numbers out there? I want to get them on the cheap but only from active users on top reputable forums in said topics.
