Hey all,

I am considering selling my website, but am unable to come to a price.

My site is earning me a consistent mid to high 4 figures a month, and has been since December, 2008.

It is easy to run, my wife (clueless in IM) runs it and spends about 4 hours a day on it.

How would one price a site like this? Is there a formula like, 4x the monthly revenue or something?

All replies are appreciated!

i think it's 6x or 7x the monthly revenue

Really? Well that sounds good.

I wonder how the market is on buying/selling websites is in this economy.

I guess an established, turnkey site will fare better than a new one. However, the price difference between the two would be pretty large.

If I'm selling at an auction I'd start the bidding at 5x monthly revenue and hope to get 10x. This is easier to do if your monthly revenue has been steadily increasing, if it is level or dropping much more difficult.

Also traffic is important, if its mostly from google etc. you will get a higher price because people know they aren't gonna have to work/spend much on promotion.

I always thought it was 10x monthly revenue... it can be even higher if the traffic comes from google mostly as wowhaxor said, and the amount of work required to make that money (the more automated, the better).

I believe you would be able to sell it for quite a price :D

Also, if you don't mind, can you send me a PM with a link to it? (even if it's only after you sell it)

7 x monthly revenue, plus brokers fees ;)
absolute minimum starting point.

Where, in your opinion, is the best place to sell it at?

It also depends what the site is about. If its not some hype site and it will actually continue generating the same amount per month I'm sure people you will sell it at a good price.

Great, thanks!

I am a business broker and i can sell and appraise your site for you. PM for details. Your site needs to be established and the earnings need to be consecutive.

If I want some website broker to buy out my website i always multiple by 10 on monthly revenue. this is standard. meaning if you're selling to end users it could be more than 10x

12x monthly revenue is what I've always seen as mostly the standard, even up to x24 it their great potential etc.

What about my site? I'm willing to sell it soon because of I need money fast (student).

~100-150 uniques per day and monetized with CPA generating ~100 dollars per month for 3 months now. I have it under my own domain as a subdomain and I can give that subdomain to new admin. Buyer also needs to have own hosting to this Wordpress blog but I can forward my subdomain there which site uses at the moment.

EDIT: there's .info domain now and all links @youtube changed to that.

And of course the niche, movies / tv shows links to other sites. CPA gateway which users need to pass get the link to the movie / show!

So what numbers I can ask for this and what is good place to sell? Ebay? I'm looking place where I can sell it free or very low fee. 500-1000 dollars?

Thanks a lot for information!
