...that is here the question.

Dear BHW,

spun press releases when done well may count as unique linking content, a normal Tier 1 if we wish.
Nevertheless, some people have argued that this uniqueness is not important since it is article syndication, not plagiarism.

Hence my question: Is it worth spinning press releases?

Thanks in advance

Dear davids355,

thanks for your quick answer. Mind if I ask you what your answer was if I posted in the BH section? :)

Not spin. I use same article for several PR. (1 pr blst). Then 15 days later i use another article with many PR sites,... and go on

What about doc sharing sites and things like that? Do you suggest to not spin as well?

Thanks

It's called a Press Release. Where one article is read in hundreds of publications and in this case websites. Why bother spinning when it is an accepted mode of doing this in all big organisations including Google?

Thank you luisqp66 for this advice. Doing it delayed and a little twisted might actually be a very nice idea. In this way it looks like a "constant" build up of links for g.

I would really like to see if someone actually did a comparison if the link juice/power by press releases is different if the text is spun. But probably you're just right :)

I would recommend not to spin especially for press releases
For article directories( when submitting articles ) you can partly

Spinning a Press Release would not be natural. I believe Press Release sites and their syndication sites are exempt from the duplicate penalty rule.

So true! Why spin for Press Release submissions? You can always submit the same PR to 10 or 15 different sites - afterall, it is news, and needn't be unique. Or you can opt for paid syndication and get the word across to hundreds of sources. But then, don't go overboard and submit to 1000 sites! Except for the best 20 or 30, the rest are all blogs masquerading as PR sites :) My 2 cents.

Create a well written PR and submit it un-spun. This is the one place where you get a free pass on duplicate content.

Press release is all about syndication so why would you want to spin it.

After all it's news you published on PR sites, as you can see on TV when something happen somewhere, almost all TV stations report the same news, so there's no need to spin the articles

so are you saying/implying that links from all those duplicate content pages count just as much as if they were unique?

Spinning is not recommended anymore, not in the post Panda-Penguin era. I would prefer quality and unique content since it can bring you direct traffic and traffic from search engines. :)

sorry but links from duplicate content don't count, do they? otherwise you could simply pay for a press release every day and get plenty of backlinks...

I also say don't spin a Press Release. A well written one, posted on services or news sites with great authority, will get you a lot of direct follow-through traffic, regardless of the duplication of content issue for SEO purposes.

If you still want to spin it,you need to do it manualy and get 90% unique content every time. This way,you can use the same PR again and again for quite a few times.
