Hello, everyone! I’m a newcomer to the crypto world. I’m considering investing in a presale for a new cross-chain asset management and off-ramp solution on the Arb blockchain. However, I’m still trying to grasp the intricacies of whitepapers and the technical details.

The project I’m interested in is called Kei Finance, and here’s the link to their white paper (docs.kei.fi/welcome-to-kei-finance/readme) I’m finding it a bit challenging to discern whether the whitepaper is exceptionally well-written or if the content is genuinely groundbreaking, especially when it comes to K-Pay, which is the primary reason I’m considering an investment.

I’m on the lookout for someone well-versed in DeFi who wouldn’t mind lending a hand to a newbie like me in dissecting the tokenomics and the whitepaper.

Your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Doesn’t matter how good a project looks on the outside, there’s still significant risk they’ll pull the rug on you. I occasionally dabble in shitcoinery for fun with smaller amounts. What I look out for are these couple of red-flags which immediately means no-go.

couple of contract functions to look out for:
mint function - team can mint tokens at any time. (watch out for hidden mint)

blacklist function - team can blacklist any wallet from transferring tokens.

pause function of any kind - this one can be a bit tricky since there’s more than one way to pause a contract, mass blacklist, 0 maxTX, 100% taxation on TXs.

make sure the liquidity is locked, and they don’t have any huge wallets on the side waiting to dump on you.

additionally you’d want the team to be doxxed, but this isnt a given and doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to rug - but definitely a huge + if team is doxxed.

check community, is it botted much? alot of engagement? When were their socials created (a week before launch is a red-flag)?

there’s a 100 more things you can keep an eye out, the best teacher is trail and error, good luck and be safe out there!

Nothing is certain. Invest what you can afford to lose if it gets to that
