Pray for the Philippines

It's been raining non-stop for 4 days now due to the "Habagat" that's being pulled by typhoon Maring. It's flooded everywhere and the rain isn't stopping. Many people are dying, and hundreds of thousands of people are losing their home. Fortunately, we live in a high area so we're not flooded, but I know a lot of people that are now up on their roof because flood has taken over their home.

Here's an image that was shared on Twitter showing how deep the flood is:

In some areas, the flood is about 6-7 feet.

To my fellow Pinoys here in BHW affected by Maring, take care! Stay safe and dry!

It was raining for 3 continuous days here in Pakistan but today it stopped and Sun showed his face. it is because of monsoon.

Sorry and angry at the same time to hear that. Hope there are no casualties.

Seeing this I think it's beyond me why the authorities don't build better infrastructure like drainage canals and dams on strategic points where water accumulates constantly such as valleys... I know the financial situation is not good in the Philippines and corruption makes everything complicated but this affects ALL inhabitants of the island, from kingpins to lower class people. There are ways of getting money when people are determined to do it that's what makes me angry about it...

And I don't think that in the history of the region this is the first flood ever, when will people learn?!
 
My thoughts and Prayers are for everyone effected... Praying that the rain and flooding subside soon.

Thanks everyone! Fortunately, me and my family are safe and fine. But still, it's devastating to see your country like this, mainly because of corrupt politicians who should be spending money on flood control.

I can see it now. There will be calls and grandstanding that better flood control projects will be put up once this typhoon stops. But nothing will happen, and we'll be flooded again the next typhoon. It's a stupid cycle.

Agree so much, yet sadly and tragically 7 people have lost their lives,
with devestating consequences for many inhabitants thoughout the country.
 
The good thing is, Filipinos in general are very happy people. Yes, even when experiencing something like this. During typhoons, we like to say that "The Filipino Spirit is Waterproof."

I live in Metro Manila and have been here for a year, just a few days ago it was sunny and all of sudden Its been raining non stop for 4 days, its flooded near where I live and only big cars can pass through the flooded areas. No matter how flooded it is some people still go to work.I pray for everyone here and may god bless us all.
