PR9 with one backlink

Yup this. He must have done a 301 redirect and when it got updated to match that of what he was redirecting to, he switched it back to his site. The PR will fall off real soon, hence the quick auction :).

301 redirect from where and how?

it's amazing how this can be done... whoever did this is a real pro... he would be able to scam someone who puts too much value on PR...

check here:

Code:
digpagerank.com/index.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpd-baiu.net%2F&dc=11

real pr-> N/A

It's not amazing at all, its' VERY simple to do.

And anyone who would get scammed by this clearly is a newbie :) There were so many suspicious things on that auction already!

Something definitely seems odd about the listing. Could be a possible re-direct of some sort.

I'm pretty sure it is either forged PR or a bug in Google's PR. I once had a domain with a blank homepage and no links to it and it had PR5 for 6 months.

Just a few things i noticed:

Age:
From whois:
" Updated Date: 09-nov-2011
Creation Date: 01-oct-2011"

The domain has been dropped once and was registered twice. So it could originally have been older than approx. 6 weeks but was allowed to drop. Also, it shows no history.

How did it get a PR9?
I have found valid PR3 links pointing to the domain, but this alone is not enough to give it PR9, so:

1. It may have had high PR backlinks which have now been removed. The PR on the domain may just not have been updated yet.
2. It may have new links pointing to it, which have not been indexed.
3. A high PR domain, e.g. PR9 may currently be redirected to it.

Content
A lot of content has been added recently.

Overall, it seems to have little value. Except, maybe to the person who bought/owns it. :D

Now its ranked in 1,400,000 ...

Oh god i have a web site with over 10,000 backlinks but page raked PR:0

I guess there is some sort of mystery behind page rank valuation . I owns a Search engine too but i use it for SEO activities

Guys, I wrote a detailed step by step thread on DP explaining how this is being done. Part of this is beyond my comprehension.

It seems to be the old school 301 technique, but this isn't. You have to understand that 301 tactics is well known by all and it has been fixed long back. This is what a 301 redirect PR hack means. I did a testing on this and will share my analysis.

- I will redirect my domain to a high PR site.
- When Google bot crawls my own domain and hits a 301 redirect it thinks that the domain is moved and picks the PR of the redirected domain.
- In this way I can achieve PR 10 if I want. But there is a catch.
- All the fake PR tools available will show this PR as fake.

I followed the exact steps and my PR was shown as fake in popular PR checker tools like rankchecker etc.,

Here is the big deal. When I removed the 301 redirect and when I allowed google to recrawl it, my PR was dropped to original low PR.

This is where these Indonesian folks won me. Even after removing the 301 redirection they are still able to have the high PR without being detected by Page rank tool bar of fake PR detection tool.

This is the only reason they are able to fly below the radar and sell these domains. Folks have sold such high PR fake domain for over 3K.

Here is the thread that I started in DP with screen shots and more example domains: goo.gl/966Qs

Sorry, I am unable to post direct URL as I am new here.

Guys wake up. It is fake PR.

1) Do a google search with this site's full name
2) Click the small cached image in the right hand side and u will get an image.
3) It will show you the image of Grants.gov which is real PR 9

I am unable to post the image as i am new here. Pls some one capture a screenshot and post here.

Yes, I see it, too.

Guaranteed 100% fake. It's impossible to reach that level in such a short time. The screen cap tells the whole story including how they did it with the 301. Google should really stop reporting PR like that for sites that are 301'd. That would put an end to this real fast.

Ha ha... The guy couldn't tolerate my comments in Flippa and here!

He closed down the auction. Thanks guys !!!

You're so cool, you just made someone lose some good money.Proud of yourself, aren't you?

Ps. I don't like people like you!
