Hi,

I just bought a PR7 domain from godaddy auctions, its an old new orleans news website, im just wondering what would the power of one link from the index.html bring in terms of SERP ranking of the site i am linking too. Also how much is this domain worth

Well its page rank 7, and i dont want to dislcose the domain
 
be careful to use the 301 redirect to the non-related site as it could make your ranking lower.
 
Did you checked that it's REAL pagerank?
Go in google and type in:
info:domain.com
If your domain name comes up it's real, otherwise You just wasted your $ ;)
It's not that easy to get real PR domains there as they are fetched out by bots.
 
Yes the domain comes up when i do a info:domain.com
 
Send me PM with the domain link and ill check how expensive it is.
 
Its not yet in my godaddy so i will not be giving out that info yet
 
Do not disclose the domain name. Some bad seed will steal it from you
 
there are chances that your domain will lost its PR as soon as whois change...
But i hope for you i make a mistake
 
Probably you can make 10K a year with that domain. :)
Just hand over links to people to buy!
 
I think this was a mistake... I don't think that link will bring you any value.
 
We don't know how much he bought it for...it could be the bargain of the century..
 
My advice :

1) Do NOT disclose the domain even if you have it in your GD account.
2) Try to replicate the old website from archive.org to maintain the PR7.
3) You might not be able to replicate the whole website, but still try to get the index.html from the archive.
4) Setup a blog and publish out articles at almost the same pace as the website used to do before it was expired. Since, it was a news site, they must have been publishing hell of a lot content per day which got them that PR. So, stick to publishing a lot of NEWS articles each day.

Just hire a writer to re-write the news articles from nytimes.com etc.
