Hello, I have a small question for those with more experience. I have a blog that was affected by that useful content update last year. The website was not penalized but posts simply dissapeared from search. I can find them in google console and see that they are indexed. However, when I use the function site: www.example.com, I only get result for the root domain. There are no post links and no image links reported to be indexed.

Here is a screen from GSC

So, my question is, is there a hope for this site or should I scrap it out?

another thing to clarify, indexed posts show when I search for the specific post, for example site: example.com/post. But don't show when I search site: example.com. Before the update I could find many links below the root domain, also images, videos, etc. It's strange how google crawls the website and says its good, while actually its not.

This is a clear sign of malperformance.

Results omitted from site: operator like that are usually filtered from results.

They can still be indexed but chance of ranking (being served) is slim to none.

Looks like it got hit the most in March which would mean Core and Spam updates.

Those focus heavily on content and are related to Helpful Content updates.

This might help:

I'm trying to remove junk content that I wrote previously, and as you can see on the screenshot there is a little improvement. Currently I'm doing AI since I have nothing to lose, just good to read articles with keyword optimization.

This chart is a clear indication that unfortunately your website was penalized, time to take a close look at your past steps and identify what you did wrong to raise this red flag for Google

You were probably penalised by google. That's why your posts don't show up.

Fix crawl issues by inspecting URLs in GSC and ensuring noindex tags are removed

Content generated using AI can be the problem. Are you writing your own articles?
