A little background: A few years ago I was uploading short videos (most < 2 minutes, many < 1 minute) daily on a YT news channel and earning a little money directly plus pushing viewers to a related website and earning again. Since the videos were current hot topics I had great CTR and since the videos were so short I had awesome retention. The website had other articles in addition to the topics covered in the videos so it also had excellent retention and returning visitors. Unfortunately after YT changed their monetization policies I stopped uploading and I haven't even checked on the channel in ages.
Fast forward to today and I jump on to find that the channel is still generating some views even though all the content in ancient news. I get to thinking I should resurrect the channel and try to build it to monetization. But then I think about all the other sites you can upload short videos to these days and how I don't want to rely 100% on YT anyway. So I'm thinking that I should keep my videos under 1 minute and upload them to YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, Tik Tok, Instagram etc. and direct all that traffic back to my site for monetization, then I don't really care if any of those channels ever make money directly.
My question is, would it be better to put the same hook in multiple ponds so to speak (same video uploaded to multiple platforms) or different hooks/videos in each? It's obviously a lot more work to put together different videos for each platform but I'm thinking it might be worth it.
