Posting content: What is the best practice?

I was wondering what you guys think about posting content on relatively new sites.
Do you think posting in bulk is better, scheduling posts on certain days or random posting?
My logic says while the site is not getting much traction bulk posting would be great and once you get decent traffic you should stick to a schedule.
But I don't know how that will affect SEO.
Do you have a tactic and are you willing to share your personal best practice?

I would stick to a schedule and aim for quality and consistency. Yes it's easy to bulk post but that doesn't look as good in terms of SEO. Put the effort in early and it will pay off in the long run.
