Google May 2020 Update Pushed Me

  • I've reduced the number of ads on my page and keeping almost no ads in content.
  • Took some website speed measures
  • Posted 1 new post with 1500+ words
Did all this yesterday and I see a couple of my KWs are back in top 100 and other KWs rankings improved as well...

Regained some traffic today but nothing major in getting my top KWs back to their original positions.

I'm talking with my SEO friends and we are looking and trying to find aspects to fight the impact

It was even sharper for me, but that's very close to what happened to my gardening affiliate websites. Let's see how they dance over the next few days, this isn't normal (even great sites are getting hit).
 
my keywords are still the same but my DA made a huge step from DA 8 to DA 41 its really amazing

During this time, I lost a lot of money every day, looking forward to rankings and traffic can be restored as soon as possible
 
This update is random as shit. Some websites similar to others get hit, and next one going up 50 positions..

Mine is stil dancing. :( Gonna order some pbn soon and social signals if content doenst fluactuate.
 
on some queries where i was #1, only forums started outranking my sites. on some other queries its forums + big sites/blogs.

Previously these forums would be somewhere on page 2 or end of page 1

i do agree that forums may have more 'authority' with all the users and content combined,and the links... but still...


i wonder what the update targeted now that google started considering forums as much more worthy
 
Having gone through the thread and checking the graphs there's something in common for most of the sites.
The sites first got spikes in impressions and clicks around March and with this update Google simply returned those sites to the places where the sites were before the spikes.

By the looks of it, google is simply correcting those spikes with this update.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Every site including mine which spiked a lot in early March have taken a hit. I am yet to see any graphs which went sideways and then dropped (im sure there are some).

Its interesting because if people had not had the spike they may have been happy with the way traffic was going. Its funny how when you take something away from people they get upset, but if they never had it in the first place they don't care :)
 
I'm just up up up in the homemaking niche and a spirituality niche.
 
I'd say that in the first place. This Google and their fairy tales. Let's see where these things go.
 
This morning I refreshed my KWs and I see some more keywords came back in top 100 and some major KWs got back in top 5.

I did a manual search today and I see a bunch of Youtube videos in top 3 lol...

I'm quite certain this is google dance and Google is still working on the update.

No change in mine unfortunately.

Both of my sites have a chat pop up and a subscribe pop up on them.

Maybe it has something to do with this.

I'm going to wait until after the update is rolled out before removing these and go from there.
 
Yess....Seems big g has rolled out their newest update.... So far so good..Seems my crap nasty stinking links are dominating ... like never before
