This issue affects many people, especially those in sales, but not everyone knows how to fix it. Some even have to abandon their accounts.

Symptoms

When you post in a group, it says your post is awaiting approval, even though that group doesn’t have a post approval setting. Both the group admin and you may not even be aware of this.

Reasons for Being Marked as Spam

  1. Low Trust Score: Your account has a low trust level. Facebook has flagged you, which is why the same post might get through for someone else but not for you.
  2. Posts/Comments with Links: Especially with green links. Facebook is taking this opportunity to target all competitors. If your post has a green link, it’s likely to be marked as spam—just removing the link can help you post normally again.
  3. Posts with Excessive Punctuation or Emojis: Users often use periods to separate sensitive words to avoid detection. Facebook has caught on, and now such posts can get flagged as spam. Using commas instead is much safer.
  4. Sensitive Words: Words like “kill,” “die,” or terms related to pricing, sales, or recruitment. Consider using alternative text formats to avoid detection.

How to Fix It

Points (2) to (4) are relatively easy to fix, but point (1) is the hardest since if Facebook has flagged your account, you’ll be marked as spam for almost anything you post. For example, even just posting an emoji might get flagged.

A simple fix is to go to your personal profile and post a few times. It’s best to post from your phone (once flagged, limit posting from a computer). Then, engage with users on your profile as much as possible while avoiding “template” language.

If you post a few times, Facebook will likely lift the restriction. In my case, I only needed one post because it got a lot of interaction.

As always, if you could drop a comment to help me out of spam, I’d really appreciate it. I’ve been struggling with this for a while. Thanks!

Let me know if you need any adjustments!
