Adding logos, text, either ontop of the image, or adding a bar to the top / bottom of the image and writing text there, oroverlay text can all help if done well.
If the user is engaged with your content and sees you have a site, or the text you are using is squeeing the user to go to your site, you can see increased traffic

If u have quantity (couple of hundreds images day) u can make good money/traffic with watermarking just use a simple domain

Similar techniques as uploading watermarked videos to tube sites.
Either a simple :myurl.com in the corner, but better if you can add block of text to the image by extended "come to myurl.com for free signup" or whatever lies you want tell to squeeze the user, then when you get them to your domain, redirect the request to your best paying offer, maybe that is a $1 free signup or a $200 cc signup
