This was probably due to US elections and not an update.

And here we go again ... and the updates have been more crappy than the next for a while now. It would be nice to fix the previous problems before adding new ones.

So many things happening at the same time. Not even able to keep up. Do they announce what changes in algorithm were done and white hat guidelines for the new changes?
 
I'm just going to come out and say it, either they are undoing all the changes they made for political reasons (ie: censorship) since the political season is over, or they are battening down the hatches getting ready for war. I don't think there is a 3rd option quite frankly.
