Pool Resources for PBN's?

Hi

Quick question. Building out PBN's can be costly - hosting, domains, content. Has anyone ever thought of pooling resources for building PBN's? For example - I have 10 VPS' servers, and some of them only have a couple sites on them. Does anyone else have anything similar? Could we get an arrangement you host one of mine, I host one of yours? Drawbacks? Anyone tried this yet?

It's a good idea, but personally I would only do that with someone I've known for a while and trust completely - I'm not sure you'll find people who are trusting enough to do it otherwise.

Yeah I think that is a great idea if you can find a homie that you worked with in the past and trust.
But random people on a forum, not so much.

until now there were two meanings of pbn.
1.private blog network.
2.public blog network.

thanks for starting a new definition. "pooled blog network". building a pbn will cost alot and i not think most people will be happy to share info of their pbn with any body.

Fair enough. I just thought with the cost it might be sweet if you could get 2x the value for your money... sounds like people are sketched out about it though.

I have thought about this but its the trust issue that holds most people back.

You will need a friend or someone who trusts you a lot for them to agree to this sort of thing.

I'm part of a private SEO forum where they did this. It doesn't work, cause people put their lowest quality domains into the pool and keep their strongest ones for themselves.

I think what he is suggesting is that people share their servers as opposed to sharing links between each others' sites on the network.

The main issue is that some people could use this nefariously and change the content on the sites that they are hosting and short of moving the domains away the the domain owner would have no control over this.

Totally true. Finding people you trust on BHW - lol!!! Would be a tough thing to do. Never know who's the scammer and who's going to throw up a sendmail script on your VPS.

I'm not sure you're totally getting what I'm saying... I wasn't advocating throwing links at anything. I was advocating sharing HOSTING to bring your cost per site on your network down. My cost is already pretty low (I've managed to get to $14 per year domain & hosting) - it was just an idea to average that down.

Exactly! I could throw your WP domain up on my VPS, if you would do the same on a VPS of yours for one of my domains. IP/host diversity.

then it'd be a Public blog network and its only a matter of someone deciding to be smart and start selling posts, providing reports and others start putting dupe content and making tier 2 links with gsa.. and the rest is history

For sure. But I mean if someone has a blog network page that is static html there is no harm hosting it on your site. And you hosting a similar one on their site. It's win/win (half the cost of IP's)...

This would be hard to get going because of the trust issue. Even with webmasters that you know you will still find that some of them won't exercise the caution that you need for a PBN to last. Its just a quick way to lose money if you don't choose the right guys/gals to team up with.

It's a good idea in theory but people are moving away from that model especially now because of the pbn's being deindexed. It's hard to maintain quality of a network if all sites are not under your control.
