Hi all,
We are looking for valuable feedback. So we are looking into legitimate windows vps's with activation. Generally through the licensing agreement we would be looking at 15 per month per windows VPS but that only covers the licensing not for the VPS.

I'd like to add, we would be looking at having to add the license cost to our vps.cost. What do you consider a fair price?

For me fair price is $6 and for my friend $50. Its really depends Op. But lower price is always good.

Thanks for that but 6 dollars for a legit windows license is impossible. Microsoft charges that much just for their license. I guess if the license is stolen 6 dollars would be great.
 
Probably around $15/month for a 2GB Win VPS would be sensible. Windows runs best with more than 1GB.
 
Use Windows Server trial keys so customers can try it first... if you know what I mean ;). After the trial make optional if the user wants to buy the key.

That makes complete sense. You can use Windows up to 180 days without any issue for a license. So essentially your saying to offer it without the activation, and if they want it they can pay for the license?
 
buy license in bulk, this will lower cost for the license and of course first use trial keys, coz some clients buy vps for short duration for their projects.

Only problem with what your doing isnt the legal way doing it. Windows licensing for vps is a solid 15 a month. I'm still trying to understand how a company offering windows 2012 for 8 dollars a month is even profitable considering the license offered by Windows is more than that.

You could also look at doing the datacenter license. Now your upfront cost would be more to do this, but once you sell a 100 or so window vps it would make sense.

I am paying 4.5$ for 1GB, MS server 2012
Customer point of view : I will shift if some other company offers the same at 3$
Mainly your point : Almost everyone who is using VPS know they are using illegal stuff(acc to MS) but nobody cares.
another point is many VPS users are phyton coders who love linux but using MS VPS for purpose like IP, location etc and they love to cheat MS as they hate it.

One more thing is windows VPS are widely used for tasks like traffic exchange, Harvesting proxies , Creating fake accounts.
While using for tasks which is kind of unethical, will somebody(including me) think about Ethics regarding OS?

I really appreciate your approach with it. That's when for the hosting company is it unethical for someone like me to have a nulled windows copy.

Businesses shouldn't go for pirated versions. Microsoft team randomly visits offices to check licenses. I know this bcos, once they came to my office in hyderabad, gladly we bought the original licenses just two weeks before as one of the client asked us. Otherwise my boss would've fucked up.

And OP, use trial codes for customers who pays monthly and full codes for who pays yearly.

The trial version is good for 180 days. Problem is I guess if they want to continue to use a legit version they can just pay for the license. Or destroy the vps and redo it to get that trial back? I'm just trying to understand a logical and best approach for it.
 
AheadHost offers windows 2012 VPSs for $5 a month. Not sure $35+ is worth it

If someone is using a vps for 180 days most probably he is hosting a very important project. I don't think they'll destroy it and go through the hassle of transfering it to the new vps. It is better to provide full codes for them and they'll pay for it most probably. Remaining people just destroys and creates vps very regularly ( once in a month or two)
