Poker Collusion, Would you do it?

I use this in real life at the casinos....I play 2/5 no limit hold em

sorry man, this idea just won't wok. play money tables dont count for shit. also doing collusion online means the poker site is very able to see ur always playing with the same player and u will be caught. plus its not nearly as profitable as other bh ways.

You guys always say it's a bad idea, and that there are more profitable ways to earn money on BH.
But please tell me which way is easy and fun like this one ??
All the other topics are not bad, but they ask much work, or investments

Well, I actually share the opinion that Poker Collusion CAN be profitable if well applied and you can virtually eliminate your chances of being caught, still this like everything else will involve some work and you will need a considerable investenment, purchasing proxies, charging up the poker accounts with no less than $50-$100 each and so forth, you will also need long hours playing poker for racking up a pre established profit per day.

As for other methods, if you do not look at everything on this forum as a busniness you won't achieve the mindset needed to make you some money.

Work will always be needed, even the gurus making money of several different income streams need to work on new ideas and methods to keep the previous methods running and profit from the new ones.

Work will always be needed, never forget this!

1) your not the first person to think of this

2) this is heavily watched for

3) you make money in poker by exploiting the weak players not knowing what 2 more cards are (though that could help with some decisions)

4) you will mostly be playing against yourself which will slowly take rake down.

5) the site can see your cards so if it sees you open folding qq because your other account has aa it is pretty obvious.

6) i would find another method. this is highly risky and only slightly profitable at best. i'm sure 2 good players playing vs a donkey with 7 other accounts at the same table would still beat you lol (not even kidding)

Who says I'm a bad player?

Who says I'm a bad player?

it doesnt really matter. good players only play about 15% (assuming its a nit reg in full ring games) to 25% (an agressive player in 6-max) of their hands anyway so that means the rest of the time, you are just playing vs yourself which means you get raked by the website.

its a great way to slowly lose tiny bits of money every time on every hand in exchange for having a slight advantage over an opponent

Yes, the casinos can and do watch for obvious collusion.

And yes, if you are diligent, you can change accounts, IPS, etc and stay under radar.

But everyone is missing the point. At the end of the day, Poker sites are not concerend about collusion...why? because they make money whether you in wor lose on the RAKE.

So in the end, they could give 2 shits if a real person or a collusion group wins the hand, the same exact % goes to the house.

Collusion does not cost the casino ANYTHING.

In my opinion, you are better off just colluding in real life, or in things that are not so watched like auctions, etc.

Myy vpip in 6max LHE is 33

I need to get back into poker, but I don't have the time. One of my goals is to rebusto my way back to 10/20 LHE 6max with a roll earned from IM. I want an 1,000bb bankroll to play with.

Better idea, get good at nl holdem and cash in that way.
Learn bankroll management and your sure to win unless your a complete fish:)

collusion always seemed sort of dumb to me... The only advantage you have is that you can calculate the odds slightly better, and you can maximize position on a bad player( place your players to the right)...

I would love to play 100 tables of 25nl, and earn 4bb/hr = 100/hr

I would like a simple bot that would fold my BS hands, and give an audible alert when I receive a playable hand: "table #29, 10-9 suited, on the button, passive blinds"

That would be worth creating. Or buy an eastern euro slave girl to do the same thing.

they have that but on pokerstars and fulltilt the max tables you can play on is 24 i believe

Been there, done that, got banned.

Play legit, stay cool, get rich:)
If you have Teh Skillz, of course.

Just adapt a tight aggressive.. approach to your game play solid poker against the crazy bastards and then cash the checks

I have seen many try online and in live games it is a tuff racket to make a go off there are lots of people paid lots of money to catch you... and they will

What you haven't considered is that if a player infact does have an advantage by colluding (which they do), they they will be more likely to take money off of other players.

The more players that lose money because of a cheater the less likely their return as they consistently lose, and hence, less future earnings from the casino.

This is why casinos and online casinos watch for this type of behaviour.

Do you really think anybody would return to a casino that was riddled with cheaters in which they couldn't win? Sure the casino would get the same amount of rake per hand but they would have FAR LESS RETURNING CLIENTS, so far less hands played, so far less profit. CASINOS DO CARE ABOUT COLLUSION.

I agree in principle, but its simply not the case. The vast majority of poker player lose money. They don't know why or how. Poker player return, if not to that casino to another. There is a ton of repeat business (even with heavy losers) and there is a ton of churn (some because of bonuses, etc and some because people thingk they may play better elsewhere.)

Do I think the casinos would rather not have collusion? Sure! But I don't think they are losing a minute of sleep over it. Blackjack, Craps, etc - games against the house - thats where they lose their sleep.

I could not agree more. MOST players lose.

However, collusion is heavily watched for. If not for them losing money, then for their Brand Name being tarnished if they have massive collusion operations going on. Think about it. When I saw that BS that happen with Absolute Poker, do you think I will ever deposit a dime there? HELL NO!!!

My opinion is its not worth it. To risky, & time consuming not to mention your ripping off other players/PEOPLE. Gaming the system (BH) or major companies is one thing, but PEOPLE is completely different.

Two summers ago I played for a living online. I started out with the cash games then quickly moved to the sit n go tournaments.
Let me tell you that is where the CONSISTENT money is at.

I would play anywhere from 2 to 5 or so sit n gos a day. Buy in usually around $10 to $30. Sit n gos have either 9 or 10 players so your done in 45 min to an hour. So $30 times 10 is $300 in the pot. I forget the percentages of the pay out for the top 3 or 4 finishers but if you read a few sit n go books and have a strategy you can ALWAYS place in the top 3.

I had I book that was really BASIC strategy for this. Read it, and expanded on it and I was successful.

Until.....

I hit a tough patch, bad beats left and right, ect.....
Honestly, it destroyed me mentally. I had to get away from it.

Now I hardly play as much. Mostly just for fun.

My advice is to approach it this way, or just stick to IM and blackhat.

Dillusion, I have been profiting from Collusion for a few weeks now. But...I'd like to know how you log in to multiple accounts with one IP....? I use a diff system for each account.

Also, make sure you sign up for rakeback...and learn the basics of it. You could have every account earning a share of what the poker room takes from the table. But it isnt as easy as it sounds...PM if you wanna discuss it

you played play money? and made 10k in 8 hours? LOL i can make this in 10minute in FTP. and play money is 100000x diff then real money playing.

I've done this in the past, back when Poker didn't bore me. Here's what you do:

1. Buy a few private proxies.

2. Use your own IP for your main account. Deposit the full possible amount, insert REAL data (home address, phone, bank acc/cc, etc)

3. Use a private proxy and a VCC for a different account and try to get a nice bonus on your initial deposit. Insert w/e info, no one cares.

4. Enter a room with 6 players with both accounts (using a private proxy on a second PC for the second acc.).

5. Play for a few hours or so, keeping both accs marginally in profit and also heads-up against yourself from time to time. NEVER sit next to your other account.

6. Try to get a lot of <insert name for the bonus you get when you play an excessive amount> points so you can get the bonus on your VCC account. (at any point in the week)

7. After this, go play some random low-stake rooms (5c SB, 10c BB) and try to not lose anything.

8. Meet back in a room every once in a while (Day 1 and 2, day 4, day 6 and 7, e.g.) and remain in profit, step it up if you want.

8. Buy-in and play the major million dollar in prizes tournaments in PartyPoker hosted in the weekends, but only those where the top 3 players move on to the next bracket.

9. Try to meet up with yourself, and otherwise play these for the lulz. If you're any good, you'll get a prize anyways.

10. Next week, after 3 days of not seeing your VCC account (still play on it!), lose to your main account, and you'll get whatever profit + bonus you have, as well as the 100% initial deposit bonus (which is about $50, $300 max).

Then repeat as necessary.

PROTIP: if you have $100, try to keep $25 saved, and try to force people to all-in in cash games if both of your accounts are in the pot, one before and one after the person you want to all-in. Of course, both accounts must be near guaranteed to win the pot. If the person all-ins, you follow with your second account, if he doesn't, you obviously fold the other account. If one of your accounts loses their entire stack because of this, you can simply re-enter with a lower buy-in and heads up against yourself ;o

OTHER PROTIP: meet a few people here that play people and are competent enough to double-team, and reliable enough to share (or otherwise just do it with friends of yours), and team up with them individually, on a set day (for example, meet every 10-15 days for a few hours). This could work with a bunch of VCCs and Private proxies.

Additionally, sign up with a dozen of people to major tournaments, make an MSN group chat (AIM, XFire, Y!M), and when you do meet each-other, you can do the same thing. As the rooms are top_3_advance, you can therefore easily take higher spots and guarantee the next room for multiple players.

ANOTHER PROTIP I JUST THOUGHT OF: never play play money or otherwise free tournaments. Just don't.

EDIT: that's PokerStars, not PartyPoker. My bad.
im gonna agree. if you run 2 different pc's, both on seperate private proxies. then you should be ok
