I use Exodus to store my crypto. I like it a lot

I use Blockchain for bitcoin and dogechain for dogecoin, i also have Exodus but don't use it as i don't play around too much with crypto

Yeah, you might piss off someone - the government or an employee or the friend of an employee, and then puff - your account is gone.

Always use a cold hard wallet like electrum where you have maximum control.

Otherwise agreed, but do not use Exodus. Nice UX, but that's the only good thing about it.

I tried Exodus some years back and bouth some BCH that I wanted to sell as soon as it reaches my desired price. Well, that day came. I tried selling - selling was blocked. After contacting the customer support, they said they have "an technical issue with the broker", with no additional explanation.

It took almost 2 months for them to renable it, at which point the price had gone lower than my initial investment. They refused to offer any kind of explanation again and no compensation. Luckily the amount was nominal, so I did not pursue legal measures.

After that, I deleted Exodus and have considered them a shitty company at best and a scam at worst.

I use a hardware Ledger wallet to HODL long term. 'Play money' is in Binance. Just make sure to use double authentication if you leave your coins in an exchange's wallet. Good luck!
