Ok everyone so I do not want to create some sappy sob story for all of you but I am going to speak the truth as I always do. I have been unemployed now for almost 2 years, I cannot find a job no matter what I do and I know I am not alone. My unemployment ran out in December and my emergecny fund is at $5 as of right now. People will not hire me because of who I am and it is not fair, I am more than on the verge of homelessness at this point. So I FINALLY found a way to make income by selling virtual items on ebay. I would'nt even call it income, I would call it survival at this point. So with that out of the way I really am not looking for a lecture on why I am doing what I am doing, I think that should explain things.

So the items, They are from a very popular game and I know how to hack the game to get these specific very sought after and rare items. What I did was list each item as a "guide" to get the item and I made it very obvious that the item people were paying for was the item itself, I even had the specific pictures of the items taken from the screen with my phone. I mentioned that I would send a PDF file, a message on ebay with the guide, or a physical copy if it was requested to the buyer. I put free shipping and when someone would purchase the item I would send an actual guide that had instructions on how to meet me in game to receive the item. After meeting me I would mark the item as shipped. In the description it clearly states that you are not paying for the item, you are paying for a guide that I have written to receive the item in the game and paying for my time, effort, and the method I had come up with.

So everything was going ok for the past week, I have made a little nugget of about $250.

So when I received my ebay bill like an IDIOT I called to pay it, while talking to someone on the phone I asked a stupid question about listing items because I was nervous. The woman I was speaking to then said "ok I am looking at one of your listings" I immediately freaked out and told her I had figured it out. She then wished me luck with my business and we ended the call.

    I knew I was fucked.

I spent the next hour worrying and not being able to relax. I just started feeling better about it when I suddenly get a new email from ebay.

"MC999 Listing policy violation alert: Copyright Violation - Unauthorized Item

Due to potential violations of copyright and/or trademark laws, we do not allow the sale of online game characters or gaming accounts. This also includes selling virtual items from such games even if they are included as a gift or bonus item. These games and their content remain the property of the copyright holder and as such cannot be listed on our site except by the copyright holder or their licensee.

We must respectfully ask that you refrain from re-listing this item in order to avoid incurring any additional policy infractions. Kindly note that we don't catch all listings that are in violation of eBay policy right away, if you see other listings which you believe is in the same violation, please report them by using the 'Report Item' link on the right hand side of every listing.

Please be sure your current and future listings follow these guidelines, keeping in mind that additional violations could result in the suspension of your account."

I have googled mc999 and I am now mortified. I really need to keep making money and I want to leep doing this. I have looked at alternate ways to do this by making multiple accounts and such but it seems I am screwed since this account has all of my identity information as well as my bank account and address.

Can anyone give me any advice on what I should do next? I want to keep doing this for as long as I can, at least until I can find a job.

I also should mention I have many, over 40, listing currently active so I am confused as to why none of them were removed yet or reported? I even had a customer make a purchase when I began writing this post! What should I do? Please help :(

You can stop selling it on e-bay, it depends on the game, you could give us the name , apart from that you might wanna try to somehow transfer items rather than give guides, since it will get popular eventually.
And no need to double-post .

Thank you for the reply, and sorry about the double post :)

So about what you said, the "guide" that I give people is simply my in game username and code to meet me in the game, as well as some simple instructions like "have wifi connection". It has no information on how I actually obtain the items. Once they meet me in the game I then transfer the items to them.

You said I can stop selling on ebay and go else where, I knew that was an option but I could not find other sites where anyone was even viewing my items. Like eBid and other auction sites like that.

I would give the name but I am afraid if I do it will create even more flooding issues and cause problems with being able to sell it anywhere.

Is there any other information about it that I can give other than the name?

I am sorry to be like this, I am just paranoid after getting this message and now want ot be as careful as possible with this new "business venture".

    Hi,

I suggest you call eBay back and ask for guidance. Give them the "innocent routine", wherein you do not want to do anything that violates any policy and you need help with your listing so it does not do that. I've received several of the notices, and have always been able to get them resolved and my items relisted by using this approach!

    Good Luck!

Well I would call them again but that seems sketchy and will draw even more attention to my problems, no?

I mean going back to the source of the problem to help me abuse their system seems like a pretty bad idea.

Does anyone know how to legally sell game guides on ebay that you wrote yourself? Like how I should set up sending these guides to customers and listing these items as to not technically get in hot water again?

Also what I am also not understanding is if one of my listings was reported and removed right away why haven't the other 40 been removed as of yet? Does this mean they won't be removed? The listings all have the same exact description so why would one be removed right away and the others not?

Does this some times happen and I am not in the clear as I may think I am?

The customer sent me another message so i sent him my guide but I am scared of marking the item as shipped, I am scared I will get suspended if I take any action on my account.

Also the fact that i am listing items as shipped when I am not shipping anything seems like it could pose a really big problem as well. Is there another way I should say I am delivering the items other than shipping? I was thinkg of putting local pickup but that would deter search options I would think correct?

Actually I have read that eBay can easily catch you creating multiple accounts and if they do you will be banned for life from ever buying or selling on eBay ever again.
eBay and PayPal are the same company and share information, so adding another account with a paypal account with my information would get me banned for life within hours.

Unless I am wrong and others here have done the same.

The forum you told me to post on has been holding my forum posts for HOURS awating moderators while other people are posting as they please.

I have a customer bothering me about a product that was sold, If I mark the item as shipped will my account get suspended? I feel like I am trapped.

What you need to do is leave eBay the hell alone can you see there a lost cause? You could not satisfy them to save your life, believe me I tried everything I could to make money on eBay but they always find a way to make you feel worthless! Get signed up with one of the porn sites and start advertising webcam and dating related stuff with PPL sign-ups, it's a sure money maker when going through tough times you just have to market the hell out of it! Use loaded cash it works pretty well, good luck!

A little quote I heard today it may be slightly misquoted but here it is, "When you want to succeed just as bad as you want to breathe then you will succeed"

Well I don't want to totally give up on eBay just yet, but I have been considering doing some cam modeling or cam work.

How hard is it to actually do? Do you have to be pretty/ have a perfect body to really make money?

Lol, I didn't mean actually do the modeling yourself lol, that's too much work, what I meant was start doing affiliate advertising for sites such as loadedcash or adultfriendfinder something like that if it doesn't bother your morals. Even *********** is ok but I don't like them as good now because they make too many changes as soon as I start making money but anyway that was just an idea I thought I'd offer you I don't want to change the subject of this thread.

I think once ebay pulls one auction for the mc999, they will eventually remove the others as well. You should give up on ebay for this, as they will just ban your account. I had 3 different listings removed for this in the span of a few months, all honest mistakes which I explained to them. But, they still restricted my account for 7 days, and they said there was nothing that could be done and I had to wait out the restriction.

Well I adjusted the listing so now it clearly states I am not selling the actual item just the guide, the way I worded it was really dumb. I don't know if this will make a difference or not.

I also took a simple picture of a printed out page with the name of the guide and by my name and added it to all of the remaining listings.

I hope this will at least buy me some more time to keep selling with this loop hole?

Does anyone know anywhere else like ebay where I can sell virtual items like this without such a strong policy against it?

ebay will eventually look at your items and take them down. they will slap you with another mc99 and restrict your account.
or the trademark hold will pick out your listing and tell ebay about it, then ebay removes the listing without question.

you should probably step away from what your selling, because they could suspend your account forever. and theres no way to sell again when that happens.

I have received mc999's and trademark violations and I speak from experience.

Try drop shipping on ebay/amazon. Here is a guide: www(DOT)blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/90724-how-make-over-10-000-monthly-selling-amazon-dropshipping-without-any-investment.html . I havent done this myself but you can see through the posts that people are doing it successfully. And regarding your MC999, it means that you are on their radar and next warning will most likely get you banned. People are referring to stealth accounts meaning you register it with completely different information: bank, ip , address, etc and there are ways to get around it easily. I myself own 50 + accounts but it's a hassle honestly, which pays off. In your case you need to adjust your description, and I am sure you can find it on google on how people still sell virtual items.

P.S. Also check this link, I think it's legit: www(DOT)blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/dropshipping-wholesale-hookups/659519-printed-phone-ipad-case-dropshipping-uk-ebay-amazon-sellers-wanted.html

Ok but what about past sales I made and the lisitings I currently have now?

I want to do the drop shipping but I am scared that now I will always be fucked since I sold so many of these items that ebay is already caught on to. I have listings people have already bidded on that have 24 more days left! What should I do? Should I just not post any new listings like this and let them run out? Or should I cancel them?
