I can't see where else this should go so here it is. I have done a search and not found an appropriate answer. I have switched hosting to godaddy and now no-one can find my site. It comes up error 404 now I know google etc will have cached sites with the old isp address but is there a quick way to get them to where my page is now? I have pinged the site as there were some significant changes I don't know if this has helped or hindered. Please help!:(

yea... earlier i was bored, so i decided to ddos your site. sorry about that.

lol why not look it up on google. look up ddos attack and find the wikipedia page in the results. it is laid out plain as day. but anyways no need to get worried after you figure out what it is cause i was just joking.

You need to check various things. First up, is the nameservers set correctly, best to check that first.

Can you get in via cpanel, if you can then check that the webpages are still there.

If that is ok then contact your host, get them to check things for you, maybe you forgot to pay your bill.

If all else fails send me a pm and I'll have a look for you.

LOL I like it when people put things on threads like this, it forces you to look things up and so now I know what denial of services is thanks!
[tongue in cheek] as you are so clever any idea of an easy fix for my prob?
Thanx available!:D

DID YOU ENTER THE NEW NAMESERVERS
ON YOUR DOMAIN??

Your domain used to point to a certain server.
You stopped paying that certain server.
If you did not repoint the domain to GoDaddy, that is your problem

or

DID YOU PUT YOUR FILES ON THE
GODADDY SERVER?

That could do it, too.

DUDE! Good news!

I found your website's problem!

Check it out: http://www.homestarrunner.com/systemisdown.html

This ought to get you back online in a hurry.

If not, try one of the dozen or so suggestions above to change your DNS settings to point to where your domain is now hosted.

No, no...don't thank me. I'm just being a good BHW citizen. ;)

My clever wife searching the internet has sorted it. We needed to add an "A" record which is a host address record. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help.:D
